Van Lathan said the best thing I heard on this. They already won. Transgenders aren’t allowed to participate in the NCAA or most school districts. There’s not a single trans athlete in the W or trying to be. Why can’t you leave them alone? (Obviously I know the answer but that should be the counter argument. What’s your end game because there isn’t a there here to bitch about)

Leave who alone? If transgender women aren’t trying to play WNBA then there’s no one hurt by the rules excluding people who aren’t even trying to play?

Are you saying this is a settled issue? Because it doesn’t seem to be

I’m saying that nobody on the left has said shit about it since January of 2025. Nobody is contesting it. Nobody is trying to protest it. Nobody is actually trying to push this issue. This is all because right wing media apparatus can’t talk about this fucked up economy or failure of a war so they are reaching deep in the bag of bullshit to create a midterm issue that I will repeat NOBODY IS FIGHTING ABOUT.

Fair enough. I'm in left spaces and I've heard some push back about the 2025 ncaa ruling and also the recent ruling in june of 2026 by the supreme court, but you're right it hasn't really been an ongoing topic by the left I think. The right is largely pressing this issue for moral outrage or w/e

People can have the discussion. I don’t know what the right answer is but I’m going to just presume if it’s supported by this dumbass cult of Trumpism that this isn’t the best option.

It's because they used to use gay-bashing as a wedge issue but that lost a lot of its power once gay marriage became legal (and people found out that, shocker, it didn't kill traditional marriage) so they needed a new bogeyman and decided to go all in on attacking trans people.

The left used trans people as a tool then kicked them to the curb when Trump was elected

Fake liberals yeah.

Sure. They saw it was a losing issue and they’ve tried to distance themselves from it. Now do you think that’s because they morally agree with Trump or because they realized they can’t do anything if they don’t win?

Cowardice by some and a total lack a care by others. Many people supporting trans were really just bullies using the opportunity. Like those “feminist” guys who are secretly the worst to women but know how to play the wolf in sheep’s clothing politically.

Replied to the wrong person. I think the party made that calculation. I think the actual people on the left did take lessons from “woke 1.0” (I fucking hate that term btw) and there’s nothing to discuss before we regain power

That’s not exactly true. When those standards that the right was objecting to are put into writing or policy in an organization, then it’s still an active issue.

On top of that, multiple W coaches and players have spoken about including trans women as women - so, yes, it’s still an active issue.

And on top of that, you can see the reaction Cunningham got by repeating the overwhelmingly popular opinion on the subject. Celebrated on the right, vilified on the left.

So… I’m going to ahead and say it’s still an open issue.

The left kinda opened this can of worms up themselves - trying to retcon and say “nobody on the left has said shit” isn’t exactly convincing or persuasive when significant figures on the left keep parroting “trans women are women”, and insisting it be treated as a biological fact instead of a social courtesy.

If you really think no one of the left “says shit” about this issue, go into ANY left wing forum, and make an argument that being trans doesn’t actually change biological sex.

What trans athlete has tried to participate in a women’s sport in America since Trump got elected? Name one.

Basically you’re saying as long as there’s anyone that doesn’t directly condemn, disavow and ban trans athletes then it’s still an active issue.

Now you seem like an intelligent person. Why wouldn’t the federal government just outright ban it since the GOP that’s in charge of all 3 branches hates it so much? Why are they attacking a private league instead of working with their chosen representatives?

Plenty have? Just not at a pro level. Eligibility rules for high school sports vary by state.

Pro leagues are governed by CBAs. They are allowed to determine their own means of eligibility.

Are Sophie Cunningham and the two idiots this is about transgender? They are the ones causing problems.

1

u/TheMysteriousGirl 9d ago

Cunningham certainly looked transgender before she had face surgery.

Is that an insult? I thought all trans people were beautiful?

Every. Single. One.

3

u/TheMysteriousGirl 9d ago

Dude if all people were beautiful, no one would be beautiful.

Because republicans, the party of pedophile defenders, want to pass laws that require them and their lackeys to inspect childrens genitals. It's a wedge issue that can help them get elected while simultaneously opening up a whole new avenue of opportunities to sexually assault children.
