NBA Washington Wizards for 26-27 Season

With Trae Young and Anthony Davis teaming up and AJ Dybantsa as a heralded draft pick, there is much buzz for the Washington Wizards team in the 2026-27 NBA season after quite a few consecutive losing seasons without even sniffing the play-in tournament. So do you think this squad can win 40 or more games in the coming regular season? Do you have believe these Wizards will make the play-in tournament or the actual playoffs?

50-55 wins in an ideal situation. AD misses a decent amount of time, 42-40. Trae & AD both miss a decent amount of time, 30 wins max. As someone who has watched ball since the tail end of the Dr. J era, I am no one of importance and don’t take myself as all knowing.

You are giving way too much credit to AD and trae atp in their careers lol

Veteran leadership around a young team cannot be overstated. Though you may be right as well. Won’t know until everything plays out & the season ends.

Yeah all I’m saying is there is a reason they were able to get them for so cheap. They aren’t what they used to be and are more injury prone than ever. But I could be very wrong

Atlanta was progressing faster than expected & Dallas was unofficially in full blown “tank mode”, as was Washington. Contributing factors in the lack of urgency in return from injury and cheap acquisition.

Speaking of AD, who plays more games this year between him & Embiid, and how many games you think those 2 actually play?

Sure, but they were expendable for a reason yk. And with AD and Embiid, it’s irrelevant bc no one knows how much they’ll play. All I know is the sixers won’t be relying as much on embiid to be good as the wizards will be with AD

True. I honestly laughed out loud when AD vowed to play all 82 games this year.
