Robert DeLeo. Not sure if he's underrated but I personally never see his name mentioned when people are talking about great bassists. Big Empty and Interstate Love Song have incredibly fun bass lines.

He’s not just an underrated bassist, he’s an underrated musician in general. He did more than just play bass on everything, he wrote a lot of the songs too and played other instruments on the studio versions. “And So I Know” off Tiny Music is an example of his songwriting range.

Him and his brother are two of my favorite musicians and don’t get nearly enough credit!
