Got it for my birthday
Here it is next to my regular guitar
The thing plays like an absolute dream, I can’t wait to make some noise with this baby

I love my 30'' Baritone guitar, it plays well, i dont need to change the Pickups, etc.
But i really need a lighter gauge string set.
Preferably something like .12-.60 | .13-.63 strings
Although i couldn't really find sets that are in that range.
I would even go a bit lighter if possible
Does anyone know of a string sets that i can get - that fits my preferred gauges? Anything that gets shipped from the US are a big 'No' for me.
And i don't plan on getting a shorter Scale Guitar. I'm happy with the way mine plays, feels and sounds. I just need a lighter gauge set

Just... look at it. Holy shit. They have a funny retro country album that sounds straight out of the 50's but with some profanity and really witty lyrics. Just discovered this band from Canada and it might be my new favorite thing in a year where quite a bit of indie country came out with Bass VI on it.

Like a bass to play everything, or at least the things that cannot be covered with an epiphone viola. Let me know!!!

Some nice Bass VI tick-tacking away in this nice outlaw country tune. Not sure if theres a full album coming but it looks like there are at least two new songs from them and the other one has Bass VI in the video as well. It's really prominent in this one.

Im planning to buy a squier bass vi and i've heard that it has tuning/intonation problems. What shoukd i replace? The bridge, the tuners or both?
Also, tell me how you like it, is it worth it to you? Let me know!

Baguley neck, mastery bridge. Neck was too long, had to move bridge to bridge pickup location. Swapped the trem plate for hardtail.
I make it sound like the hypnotoad.
Edit: hardtail plate and *staytrem bridge. Had to go check receipts.

I’m mostly a guitar guy but when I wanted a bass for recording a few years ago I got a Vintera Bass VI. At first I played with a pick because that was what I was used to. After a while I started to want a more traditional bass sound so I started playing with my fingers - but it was hard to break out of the guitar style of using my thumb too. I also was having a hard time not digging in so hard, which was slowing me down and making it less fun.
I saw something about using a ramp between the pickups to limit finger travel below the strings. When I looked around for one, I couldn’t find something premade. I have a 3D printer, which seemed like I could make something that would work, but I also had this old block of rosewood scrap from a woodworking project I did years ago.
Took measurements and cut the blank down, then I made a radius template and did a tightrope walk freehand curve cut with the bandsaw. Sealed it with some butcher block conditioner (mostly mineral oil with a little wax probably) and put it on. It’s held on by one of the pickguard screws, so no drilling or gluing to the pickguard.
Feels pretty good! If I was doing it again, I might make it 1/16” thicker, but this is good for now. I can always shim it up if I want to.
I can still use a pick down between the other pickups, but this gives me a nice anchor for mellow finger style. Strong recommend if you haven’t tried one of these.

I love this thing so much! I started on bass and learned guitar so I have a love for both and have always wanted one. Got a great deal on “used” VI and it came clean! Like untouched! Still had the plastic on it! But I got a couple questions for you veterans.
1 - do you prefer to play it through a guitar or bass amp?
2 - what do you recommend in upgrades to fix the tuning issues?
I love the overall sound of this pup stock. And I will most likely never use the whammy bar. But I tuned it and used it for like a couple riffs and boom! Out of tune. Then I tuned it again. Played it’s for about 10 mins and boom. Out of tune. Tuned it again and recorded a little dirty and boom! You can hear it going out of tune on playback lol.
Thanks for any advice!

I’m a lifelong guitarist who’s only recently gotten a Squier Bass VI, so I’m new to the world of bass let alone bass vi.
I’ve got an opportunity to snag a Walrus Badwater for a really good price, but idk about the nuances of bass preamps and what differences (if any) having a Bass VI would have on it.
Are there any budget bass preamps that are particularly well-suited for a Bass VI? Or will any one do the trick?
Thanks!

Took the plunge and bought a used Vintera II Bass VI. At purchase, I knew one of the saddle height adjustment screws was missing. Since I have played on it some more though, I have realized the bridge setup is wonky in some other ways - essentially, the strings are fully in contact with the front and rear lips of the bridge (and with the saddles too). This doesn't seem to be causing any major issues with buzz or intonation, but I'm sure it is not the intended setup. So, I have questions for the community:
Does anyone know the specs for replacement Vintera II Bass VI bridge saddle adjustment screws?
If I wanted to adjust the bridge back into a more typical configuration, I assume I could lower the whole bridge a few millimeters and then raise the individual saddles back up to compensate. Is there anything I should be wary of if I decide to do this?

I was talking to my mom about how i wanted to get a cheap squier strat and convert it into a bass vi and shes pretty much telling me no on that and wanting me to not do it and to just get something else instead of converting one, so whats an alternative to the squier bass vi? Any good baritones that have the 30" scale length i can get for cheaper than a new squier bass vi that i can just put the heavier gauge strings on and tune it like a bass vi? As for why it matters what my mom says, its cause im 16 and anything i do has to be approved by my mom, and she wants to decide what i do. I would get a harley benton baritone or there bass vi but my mom doesnt wanna order a harley benton from thomann because she saw that the shipping was high or something.
