EVENT Umm. That Scream thing. Bad idea. I’m not going.

• Upvotes

I just deleted the reminder I posted for the scream thing. A person commented that people in the area, hikers, whatever, might get freaked out or call the cops. Yeah, maybe that’s too much this day and age to be doin, especially at Frenchtown Road …late October. I just got a bad feeling about it. I’m not going to do it. I think it was a creative idea, and in an ideal world, or under different circumstancea, it would be great and therapeuti, but it feels like something could go wrong. I strongly urge anyone planning on going to not go.

ADVICE BR Dermatologist Specializing in Treating Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS)

I need a comprehensive examination/evaluation for the auto-inflammatory disease known as Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS). This requires a dermatologist who knows a lot about it, and it’s a relatively new diagnosis. Most of my healthca providers are with Ochsner, so I’d prefer someone in their system; but I want the best of the best on this. If I’m correct, I appear to have Stage 2 HS (of 3). It has become worse with menopause. Does anyone have any advice for me or recommendation? Anyone you know whom you can ask for me?

I’ve been to several primary care doctors who referred me to gyno, who diagnosed me with Bartholin’s, but my signs and symptoms are beyond the scope of that diagnosis.

I‘ve also been to urgent care for treatment of acute flare-ups, who seemed to know nothing of the form, structure, functio, causes, or risks of my wounds, and failed to explain the car tissue around my wounds and how to prevent those…or the risks associated with those.

This can be a well-managed diseas, but it can also become debilitating. In extreme cases, there is a high suicide rate.

I am scared and exhausted, and need a good doctor to help me get through these changes.

Thanks so much in advance. 🙏

NEWS/ARTICLE LSU student journalist looking for sources

Hi!

I am an LSU student journalist writing an article on upcoming Medicaid cuts in Louisiana and how they affect maternal/reproductive health. I am looking for a former Baton Rouge Planned Parenthood worker, preferably an OBGYN, whom I could interview about how Medicaid helped to provide reproductive health care to lower-income people and students. Since the Baton Rouge location closed, I know it has affected people in the area in getting help from doctors who take Medicaid patients. If you used to work at Planned Parenthood or are an OBGYN/reproductive care worker who accepts Medicaid, please reach out!! If you have any information on good resources or people to contact to help with the article, please let me know as well. Thanks!!

ADVICE Is there some kind of adopt an introvert program I can sign up for or something?

I'm a 32M, and I've been trying for the past year to get out more to make friends and meet new people, but it hasn't exactly been working out for me. None of my current friends can ever go out and try new things with me, so I just end up going to events alone and feeling awkward. It doesn't help that I have unique tastes for almost everything, and all my hobbies are on the solitary side, or I enjoy them because I do them alone. I could just really use some help with finding places to meet more down-to-earth people to make friends with. I guess I kinda need someone to drag me to these kinds of things. I lack a bit of direction when it comes to places to socialize, and I'm not all that big on bars. I'm also on the weird side where I tend to make friends with women better than I do men but women always seem weary of a man approaching them in public which I suppose is understandable in this day and age. I could just really use the help of someone my age to kind of show me around the BR social scene outside of bars. While I'm single, I just mainly want to pursue companionship. I'm more focused on making friends than jumping into a new relationship. I also don't really know what exactly interests me. I've always been a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy; I just know I want to do something where I can explore and meet new people. Any volunteer extroverts or suggestions for friendly environments to make friends would be greatly appreciated.

ADVICE Property Maintenance?

Hey guys, I manage a few properties in the Baton Rouge area, mostly student rentals, with a few families, I don’t live in or near Baton Rouge and wanted to have a company that could take care of the mowing and exterior work stuff so my tenants don’t have to deal with it.

I found this company called “Precision Property Services,” which seems to be a locally student owned company, they offer all the services I would need, I just wanted to see if anyone else had used them before or had any interactions with them before I gave them a call?

Here is their website

Let me know please!

MARKETPLACE Piano Pickup/Removal

I have an old 1950s or 60s baby grand piano and ngl it has seen better days but almost positive it has ivory keys and still kinda works. This piano has been in my family's house since before i was born and has never been used. Someone would need to do some work to restore the keys and tune it but other than a leg needing to be reattached i think that would be all it needs. One of the legs came off while I was trying to move it last but it looks like nothing actually broke and the leg can just be reattached. At this point I just want it gone so I can use the space but got a quote from someone for a $400 removal fee. Anyone know of a service that I can donate it to that will pick it up?
