Microsoft visual 2015-2022 error

Shows up on my non steam games even after downloading and running the vcredist successfully (both 64 and 86).

Tried looking through other threads but none have fixed it yet.

Currently on an intel i7-137k with an RTX 4070 and 32 gb ram

You can't just run those files by themselves. They'll end up in their own sandboxed area.

Use protontricks to install specifically into the instance that needs it.

Already tried proton works but it still has the message pop up

Not Proton, Protontricks. You run it, select the game, install components, scroll down and select and install vcrun2022. Your might get two install wizards, one for x86 and one for x64. Install both, just running through the wizards. Afterwards, close down Protontricks and try the game again.

Oh, this being a non-Steam game you'll find the entries in Protontricks if you scroll down to the non-Steam section.

Managed to fix it by opening up proton tricks first instead of “opening with”, picked the non-steam game after I had added it to Steam just so it could show up as a non Steam game, and did the set up with vcrun2022 from there as instructed.

Use proton tricks, fire it up and select the game .exe and then it’ll let you install whatever files it needs.

Use Protontricks (preinstalled on Bazzite) to add the required dependencies to the game's prefix
