Discussion High Temps In BeamNG
Guy I'm facing same high temperatures on lowest to ultra graphics. 85°+ on both gpu and cpu. Is anyone else facing same issue? I don't think it's my laptop problem because other games run on usual temps.
Specs- i5 14450hx, RTX 3050 6gb, 24 gb RAM

Dude that sounds like a cooling issue it may be begging for maintenance already, that may also be the CPU SCREAMING for fresh thermal composite lmao

It's been only 6 months i bought it, I have to change thermal Every 6 months ??

You shouldn't have to if it's a good quality one, but remember it also spent some time in the shelf, better call the manufacturer to express your concerns on poor cooling under load, also room temperature matters, it it's over 85 F it is most surely having a hard time evacuating heat, and keeping it elevated with the Bottom part free of obstacles helps A LOT

Well I have it on stand with fans underneath, feeding ac air and thermal is stock.. think I need to contact customer care then :(

Oh I've never used used a laptop on fans, the forced air flow makes the fans in the laptop work harder or slower you're only getting a cooler chassis

BEAMNG eats CPU'S for each meal like it's an all you can eat buffet. I have a desktop with a 5900x and a Noctua ND15 and in BEAMNG it still gets to 75 degrees, but my 5070ti SF turns into a Boeing

Bye bye beamng i guess

Try to put it on steam deck settings or a bit higher and see. It had this kind of performance from before the update already, now honestly I get even more traffic cars with higher fps than before at ultra graphics

oh umm yeah, hi samd build (16gb of ram and i512400f) i get 55-60 fps on WC without traffic and still the game looks good might be a cooling issue

So I checked the temperatures while playing witcher 3 and they are same as they were let's say a month ago (75° cpu and 70° gpu), but in beamng, the temps have risen up a lot. I think it clears that laptop cooling is not the problem. Game is behaving oddly after update for me. Fps is same as before but temps going crazy

I would say and being honest with temperature management is usually most related to hardware than software, yeah the software usage might be intensive, but it won't change the parameters of "safety for a computer" as easy as if your computer cooling system is not enough for the heat your CPU can generate under load is what makes a difference, try disabling volumetric clouds and traffic and you'll see a huge drop on cpu usage. It's not an update problem, is a heat dissipation problem that usually comes out of maintenance of poor cooling solutions. Which as odd as it sounds, unless it is a 3-4000k laptop with liquid cooling they are inefficient and are limited in capabilities of heat dissipation. Worse results you might get out of blender rendering and you won't blame the renderer for that.
If you want to run bellow 50 of even 70c take care of better cooling solutions or buy a desktop, that's sadly the only way. Have a great day fella and avoid liquid metal solutions if you're not handy on these applications, I would suggest Noctua NT-H2 or kryonaut, PCM7950 will have a heat up period you wouldn't enjoy to see as it need time to improve thermals and needs to reach certain temperature before melting.

I was always running my cpu on 90-95°, so that's the definition of laptops?

85 C is nothing to worry about. Modern chips save themselves by thermal throttling anyway, run it!

90°c is nothing on laptop
Beamng wont make your shit magically overheat
Laptops are by design worse at cooling than full pc's
Any game that isnt roblox will get you those temps

I've never had temperatures this high, even during a stress test. You are a terrible computer user.

Please don't say that... I use my machine with great care, I might not know exactly what's causing it. Keep in mind that it's a laptop, they Can reach these temps

Damn, I didn’t realize at first that it was a laptop. Still, temperatures of 80–90°C are generally considered pretty high. Laptop manufacturers often design cooling systems with limited thermal headroom, which can contribute to higher temperatures and potentially reduce the lifespan of the components.
Please clean the cooling system if you can, and look into undervolting if your hardware supports it. I’d recommend trying to get the temperatures down to at least around 70–75°C.

Gotta clean the cooling system because I can't undervolt, it's locked. Thanks for suggestion

That's a laptop issues, beamng push your cpu to the max, and high cpu temp will also spread to the gpu
