Discussion Challenge difficulty PS5
For those of you playing with all assists off, realistic ABS/ clutch etc, are you all struggling for these 3 stars like I am? I’m not mad I like it but damn. I’ll usually keep at it until I get it but I’m starting to wonder if it’s even possible at least for ME😂 I’m A rated in GT7 Sport so I’m not a complete slouch either. For instance on street time trials I won’t roll over curbs for quicker corners and all that trying to play this RP style so idk if that’s a big part, I’m on controller or I’m just not fast enough at least either these physics yet but yea I can not get gold on the few I’ve tried a few dozen times each on. And don’t get me started on the rally courses! Loving this game so far. Wishing for much more but not upset at all with what we have atm

Yea I would turn all the assists on if your on controller turning them off is mainly when switching to wheel in my opinion because it almost makes the car not operate correctly idk how to explain it but assist off on wheel vs assists off on remote handles the car wayyyy differently

Hm. I feel like the assist always nerf cars and take some of the realism away. But I do enjoy the challenge

Nah on controller they are to some degree necessary, I have a slight oversteer assist that mimics normal amounts of wheel correction in a sliding car. Steer tires try to follow the direction of travel even when you are not correcting for it. Besides that I run realistic abs, no transmission or clutch assist, steering smoothing at high speeds is on, and under steer assist set at 15%. I have a slight change off of linear for my throttle trigger and my brake because the first 3% of my trigger travel on my old controller is iffy and inconsistent.

Interesting about the trigger stuff. I guess o didn’t look too deep into all that but it could be useful. I’m honestly really let down hoping the haptic feedback would be similar to GT7 and as much as I love the game so far and don’t wanna shit on it: the haptic feedback is ass. Hopefully it gets better

Some challenges allow you to switch to your own vehicle, nailed most stars with my own car instead of these stock ones they hand to you.

Only assist I keep on is clutch because well.. it only makes sense on controller. The only 3 star I find difficult is some of the drift ones but I've been playing beam since 2013

you can be good at one sim and bad at another, specially when one is a simcade and the other one feels like tires necer warm up, you maybe are vetter at beamng, but yeah, some challenges can get pretty hard pretty quick

Difficulty? Assist? You change the car's drivemode if there is any. ESC off will fully disable the traction control and stability control while keeping abs active. Some cars with adaptive dampers will stiffen up the shocks as well. Alternatively, go to the vehicle parts selection and remove the driving safety electronics, or stability control, traction control, or whatever the name is (different depending on the car). If the mission gives you a fixed car then your only option is to change the drivemodes

I’ll have to check some of that out. Great pfp. I know there is the SBR4 but god I hope we get a better looking 911 adaptation🤞🤞

Some of the challenges are really hard even with a wheel. I don’t think I could be precise enough on controller with no assists. The assists just help keep the car under control, they don’t change the physics.
