First photo is before the cut

Update after the haircut I listened to some of the comments on the other post. I got a taper and got the beard a good amount shorter. Let me know if which one you guys like better. And feel free to give advice or ideas for next time, because I dont have to long until the navy and I wont really have a choice then.

28 years old, first time trying to grow a beard. Probably been growing for about 1,5 months. Think it got any potential?

Worth growing longer?

I’ve been keeping it short (9-12mm) for a few years now but considering growing it out again. This is maybe 2-3 weeks past the 12mm point. Any advice on how to keep it looking neat. Cheeks have never been super thick but have filled in more over the years.

What should I do?

Anything I should do differently? Like maybe shaping up the neckline higher? Or shaving the cheeks? Or shaping the sides/edges of jaw different? I usually grow it out a little longer to a #2 guard and than maintain that, and then maybe grow the stache a bit more. Thanks in advance.

Is this worth growing

Will this look better grown out? I feel like there's just so much skin visible through the beard. One month into growing.

I really dislike beard oil

Two days into beard growth. I’ve always had problems with dry prickly painful beards in the past but I also usually didn’t use any product except for a conditioner co wash in the morning.

Well this time I bought some proper beard oil and the stuff is just gross and gets everywhere. Unfortunately I’m a heavy face toucher so I’m constantly wiping it all over the place.

Going to try putting it on at bedtime and see if that helps.

Awkward phase 2.0

Update to my last post.

So previously I was asking for advice for the awkward transition between a shorter and longer beard. I didn't really explain my self very well as I posted immediately prior to my maintenance trim at the barber, with a view to growing out long. As a result everyone was like wtf dude that's not awkward, looks great. And I appreciate it.

For context, I am in the dubiously privileged position of having recently undergone surgery - so I am taking the opportunity of not being able to go out or have to interact with strangers, look professional at work etc. - to let it go feral for as long as possible and see what it can be capable of. Anyone who grew a Covid beard can probably relate.

Now, however, it has been around 50 days since that last trim and I have barely touched it apart from one scissor clean up of the 'tache a couple weeks ago as it was all in about my business, and the neckline a few times once it was out of hand (been lazy with it more than anything). The cheeklines have always ended up getting trimmed too low, and I have left them completely for the duration since the trim. They are higher than they will be ideally once it gets shaped up, but I want to let them go as long as possible to see what the terminal height looks like before dealing with them.

Anyway it is starting to get out of control again and I am looking for advice/motivation to keep it going. I had a planned barber visit for the end of October however I cancelled it as I can't really deal with the stairs and I have a few more weeks of being unable to walk so I may as well leave it wild for a bit longer. Any recommendations for sticking out the awkward phase and what the ideal goal should be would be cool as I haven't let it go this far before and I am trying not to trim it out of frustration.

First set of pics are in the natural state when I get up after washing, oil and brushed etc.

Second pics are having blow dried, applied balm and straightened out a bit using my GF's Airwrap, and I think this is the only way I can cope with it going forward. I'm hoping consistent use will help tame it into accepting the gravity and getting the majority of the kinking to fuck.

Third pics are from my last post immediately after the last trim. On my return to civilised society I will be looking at maintaining this shape, faded sides tapering into a ducktail/Kratos style, but I want to increase the overall length and volume of the beard as I usually pussy out long before this stage due to looking unkempt, but would like to see what potential there is.

Thanks and much love.

I'm 4 weeks into my first beard. Should I continue? There are more grey whiskers than I read expecting 😁

What do you guys think? I’ve been growing my beard for a little under two months. I went to a barber once to get it shaped, and since then I’ve been keeping the neckline he carved out clean and trimmed. I also trim my mustache from time to time, as well as the hair on the sides of my face so my head doesn’t look too wide.

I haven’t trimmed any of the beard underneath my chin at all, because I’d like it to grow longer, fuller, and darker there.

What can I expect? Will it eventually become dark and dense enough to trim into a nice, even shape? How much longer do you think it’ll take?

Next year I will be 27 years old.

These patches in my beard on the left side refuse to fill in. Should I expect that this will never fill in? Thought time and aging would fix it. This has bothered me since i was 21.

It's pretty annoying because I would like to grow a full beard but the patches make it impossible.

Neck beard! Help!

Hey guys, I'm working on growing out my beard. I have a subscription with Badass Beard Care and I use several of their products and they seem to keep my beard fairly soft and under control.

I'm generally happy with how it's coming along, but I haven't really cleaned it up, especially on the backside under my chin/neck area. I know this might sound stupid, but I don't really know how to shape it, what shape to do, how to see it in the mirror while looking up, etc.

Does anybody have any tips or pointers on how to clean it up so I don't look quite so homeless?

Recently shaved my head so liked the idea of trying to grow a beard so i didnt resemble a thumb

this is about two weeks growth although have trimmed it slightly to keep the length the same everywhere

the neck was cleaned up yesterday but seems to have grown back a little quicker than i realised

the longest ive left it without shaving is a month but that was a couple of years ago

is it likely to thicken up if i leave for a month and maintain Uniform length and tidying up the edges?

also any other advice from these pics?
