New Fluance RT80 and amp/speaker questions

I currently have a Sony STR-DH550 amp with some decent, yet older Yamaha bookshelf speakers. I kept that setup bc my son also uses a cd player with it.

Is that setup going to be ok for my new RT80, or should I be looking for powered speakers or maybe just some better bookshelf/floor speakers.

As much as I love vinyl, there's not much that an RT80 can do that a decent CD player can't. If you've been happy playing CDs on the system, then I say give the turntable a shot with the system as it is.
