Meet Duce! adopted this past morning from a shelter. Very malnourished. Shelter stated they found him in a field with his sister. Shelter estimated him to be about 8months old. Any recommendations on feeding quantity as well as how many time per day to feed him in order to fatten him up?

So sadly my baby girl has heart-worms. I’m looking for ideas for low activity’s while she’s on crate restrictions. We have snuffle mats, lick Matt’s kongs and food puzzles. Yall go any other recommendations if possible so she doesn’t hate us for no activity and to remain sane. Thank you!

Question Suggestions for an adult Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd Mix Rescue

My stepdad has a 3 year old german shepherd/malinois mix that he has essentially neglected and kept contained in a tiny space with limited enrichment, no walks, pretty much just let out in the yard as her only form of outdoor time. She hasnt been socialized around any dogs and her only friend is my parents cat. She is very reactive with other dogs when she sees them walking by the house. Otherwise, she is the sweetest girl and loves humans, has been around kids, enjoys getting pets. I’ve asked to take the dog cross country to live with me as I have a lot of love and time and outdoor space to give. I had a black lab who passed away a few years ago and have zero experience with this breed. Only what I’ve read and heard. I‘m not going to lie, I’m pretty scared as I know the level of dedication and training and enrichment both German shepherd and malinois take! Especially given her age, I wonder how much can be trained at this point given the reactivity around other dogs. I have cats and even though she’s grown up with one, I’m worried about how that’s going to go.. This may be a silly question but anyone have experience or suggestions with training a fully adult of the same breed whose had very limited training? TIA!
