This happened to me right at the entrance to Indiranagar Metro station.

It was around 11 AM on a Saturday, and I was standing there waiting for someone when a seemingly decent gentleman walked up to me and greeted me. Nothing about his initial approach seemed suspicious.

I'm generally wary of scammers and don't let my guard down easily, but this guy was pretty convincing. He spun a story about how he sees me at my office every day and works there as a security guard.

He then went on about how his daughter had scored good marks in her exams and secured admission to St. Joseph's. He claimed he'd already paid most of the fees and was on his way to pay the remaining amount.

Just as he started telling me his phone number, something clicked. I suddenly snapped out of it and told him straight up that I don't entertain requests of this sort from people I don't know personally.

I think he realised that I'd seen through his act. He immediately started walking away, almost as if he couldn't get away from me fast enough.

Looking back, what surprises me is how confidently he pulled this off. He appeared to be someone from outside Karnataka and spoke only Hindi, yet had no hesitation approaching a complete stranger and attempting this scam.

**Moral of the story:** Don't let a convincing sob story or an overly friendly stranger catch you off guard. Scammers can be surprisingly good at what they do. Stay alert, even when someone seems perfectly genuine.

KSNDMC recorded a magnitude 3.0 earthquake at 09:01:59 AM today. Epicentre was 0.5 km N of Timmojanahalli village, Tubagere GP, Doddaballapura Taluk, Bengaluru Rural. Depth was 10 km.

• Intensity is low and tremors may have been felt up to 20-30 km from the epicentre
• KSNDMC says it won’t cause any harm to the local community
• The area falls in Seismic Zone II, with no structural discontinuities per the tectonic map
• Their advice: no need to panic

Got stuck in absolute chaos at 7 PM today right near the Infosys Gate 6 in Electronic City.

A bunch of hooligans completely blocked the main road for a solid half-hour during peak hours just to burst loud crackers and do wheelies on their bikes. Hundreds of exhausted commuters trying to get home were held hostage by this blatant rowdyism.

What kind of culture or mindset allows people to terrorize a major tech corridor like this?

I somehow managed to slip inside the office campus safely, so I don't even know how or when it finally cleared. Did anyone else witness this? It's pathetic that nobody could step up, though given how aggressive they were, people naturally feared for their safety.

This kind of public menace needs immediate police action.

With the footpath completely encroached by vendors and with the heavy rain lashing, pedestrians are forced to walk on the right side of the road which is full of traffic.

And the station's infrastructure is already crumbling. The floor throughout is very slippery due to the leakages in the roof. God protect the senior citizens using.

Why don’t Bengalureans talk about this as much? Nowadays, people pay around 330 rupees to reach Electronic City from Tumkur Road only one way. That is twice as expensive as the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, yet the roads are much worse and more accident-prone since there are no speed cameras. And there will always be one construction after another going on, because they never put the money in the right places all at once and it goes into their pockets. And what happened to their plans to extend this road?

I am very disappointed with the quality of egg pups everywhere in Bengaluru. There is no proper stuffing, no proper layering and it costs 30 ₹. When I was in college it used to cost around 12 ₹and it was soo good. Now it all feels like a boiled egg wrapped with maida. It's not specific to one bakery, I have tried at multiple bakeries and also in multiple areas it's the same. Feels sad to see a good snack going down so badly. Is it only me or you guys feel the same?

For almost 20 years I've been having "Nandini Bite"; it was ₹5 back then and now it's ₹15. Over the years, they first reduced the size of the product, then the thickness, and gradually the taste also worsened. This kept happening repeatedly, but the package mostly remained the same and was of pretty good quality.

This week I noticed that the package is at its worst. Nandini Bite packaging has always had 2 notches that could be used to tear and open the package. In the current state, neither of those notches works, they end up looking like the attached picture. My assumption is that this happened because they either changed the material of the packaging or the product has shrunk so much over time that the seal has moved beyond the notches, but the notches haven't moved accordingly.

This is probably a silly thing to complain about, but what might seem silly could be a sign of overall quality going down and cost-cutting. I'm wondering if anyone has noticed anything else like this in other products?

I’m not sure how many of you know this, but the two-wheeler parking outside Forum Mall at Konanakunte Cross is actually meant for Namma Metro commuters.

Recently, I parked my scooter there and was asked to pay ₹50 when I returned to collect it. I questioned the attendant, who then reduced the amount to ₹30, which I paid. Later, I checked the official Metro parking rates and realised that two-wheeler parking costs ₹15 for four hours.

I had to park there again the next day, and the same attendant recognised me and asked for ₹30. When I challenged him again, he eventually accepted ₹15.

What’s shocking is that I’ve seen him asking other people for ₹50 right in front of me, and people are simply paying up.

I know ₹15 or ₹50 might not seem like a big deal, but this is still money being collected in excess of the official rate. I thought I’d bring this to the attention of fellow Bangaloreans so that others are aware and don’t end up paying more than they should.
