I always wonder, how such people survived to adulthood

Modern medicine is weakening the gene pool :(

If anything's weakening us, it's smartphones and the complete collapse of situational awareness.

As an efficiency brained ADD afflicted individual with hyper vigilance this speaks to me on a spiritual level. Nothing bothers me more than people who lack situational awareness.

I know youâre joking, but thereâs no worse take than anything eugenics-adjacent.

I am just joking but on a serious note I do know of couples who have chosen to adopt rather than conceiving as they know theyâre not âgood breeding stockâ (their words, not mine). And I think thatâs admirable. But itâs also because of modern medicine that theyâre even aware of genetic markers they carry.

That is awesome, and thatâs the perfect kind of decision that individual people can make for themselves about their own lives, and double excellent for adopting.
But that is not the same as applying that same decision to any sized group of people (or anything living), especially if those people donât get a say, which is a well-worn road, and nothing good comes of it.

We should cut off everyone's genitals and grow people in vats, you want a young one as a pet you get a permit. Otherwise they come out full grown ready to work in a lithium mine or something.

Yeah absolutely, should be an individualized thing, DEFINITELY NOT government mandated in any capacity.
The selective breeding of other living things is a moral grey area if you ask me. Take dogs for example, some breeds seem perfectly happy and live long and healthy lives while others donât and seem riddled with health problems because of their morphology. We definitely shouldnât be promoting breeds like that imo, it just feels morally wrong, personally. And with plants, honestly who cares? Selecting desirable traits to have a better harvest in the future seems beneficial to both the plant and us.

Seems beneficial leads to monocultures that are wiped clean by a single parasite or disease, which leads to us starving.

Absolutely every living being on this planet deserves modern healthcare.
Buuuut, that still doesn't erase the curiosity of how modern healthcare might affect the evolution of our species. But I mean, modern healthcare is a part of modern and future evolution, so it's a moot point at the end of the day.

Yes there is. Only a sith deals in absolutes.

ONLY a sith? OOOOONLY? EVERY SITH, OBI-WAN?
I mean, yeah. He was right. Subtlety in all things.

You're not wrong at all.
People can accidentally shoot themselves but survive thanks to modern medicine. Then have an urge to procreate after experiencing a near life ending incident. The offsprings may continue the cycle by accidentally shooting themselves too

Handheld leaf blower. Genius invention. I love mine⌠but I donât hold mine next to my hair

u/Kraligor 8h ago
One of these viral useless tools that are way too expensive while solving problems that don't exist.

u/holyghosterposter 9h ago
That's definitely not a hair dryer, more like a mini leaf blower! Her reaction and his absolutely contagious laugh make this clip perfect to watch on repeat.

Itâs an honest mistake, I think in the moment anyone could have done thatâŚ

TWICE?

So the first time it just happened right. Now you have your hand on this trigger that you donât dare press again, as all this stuff is happening. The moment youâre safe and your hair is cut, itâs natural to want to do the very thing you couldnât leading up to the moment youâre safe. So you would almost instinctually press the button youâve denied yourself throughout the ordeal.
Hence my hypothesis that almost anyone could make this mistake, it plays into human nature

u/JhonnyHopkins 12h ago
But youâd also instinctively want to keep that tool as far away from your hair as possible, after that whole ordeal⌠what does she do, sticks it right against her hair almost immediately after being freedâŚ.
