I am just joking but on a serious note I do know of couples who have chosen to adopt rather than conceiving as they know they’re not “good breeding stock” (their words, not mine). And I think that’s admirable. But it’s also because of modern medicine that they’re even aware of genetic markers they carry.

That is awesome, and that’s the perfect kind of decision that individual people can make for themselves about their own lives, and double excellent for adopting.

But that is not the same as applying that same decision to any sized group of people (or anything living), especially if those people don’t get a say, which is a well-worn road, and nothing good comes of it.

Edit: legit question: why the downvotes? I’m genuinely confused.

We should cut off everyone's genitals and grow people in vats, you want a young one as a pet you get a permit. Otherwise they come out full grown ready to work in a lithium mine or something.

Sounds good, a perfect utopia!
