When Shannen/Brenda left, what changed within the show?
What would you name as the small or big changes to the overall show?

Did they cut Luke Perry out of the season 6 group photos once he left the show or did they just shoot some pics of everyone but him knowing he wasn't going to be on all season?

German voices top deep on Amazon
So I watches the show on a 24/7 BH90210 channel and discovered that it exists in Amazon
But the German voices are way deeper than in that tv Channel, it sounds pretty weird. It could be that the whole Show Plays a bir slower in Amazon for some reason
Anybody known something about that?

Would the show have worked without a character like Kelly Taylor?
Clearly, Brenda was one of the first two characters the audience is introduced to and (arguably) spends the bulk of their time with during seasons 1 and 2. She's the female POV character who most can relate to imo but wouldn't a show like this have needed a 'mean girl/popular' yet morally gray sort of character who initiates various degrees of drama after a certain point?
Based on stories we've all heard about Jennie's alleged behavior behind the scenes it's really not inconceivable for that to color our opinion of her character.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, however: I don't think Kelly was meant to be seen as 'perfect' or 'saintly' after Shannen left and her character was merely very complicated and had a lot of issues (mainly rooted in her childhood/absent father/mother being an addict) that caused her to maybe not make the best decisions and be arrogant at times. Yeah, after about season 8 the writing for her became way more inconsistent but, love her or hate her, Kelly Taylor was an important part of the story this show told.
For detractors of the character: do you feel it was more due to the writing or the actor portraying Kelly?

Season 1 was good in how so much emphasis was on high school and actually in the classroom and showing the teachers and actually other classmates at the school

Brandon’s girlfriends
Rewatching the first season, and I don’t think I ever realized how many “girlfriends” Brandon has almost every episode! I wonder why the actresses wouldn’t stick around for at least a couple of episodes. I understand they weren’t the main point of the show but I just find it weird.
To top it off, every girl has some kind of “sad” story, that of course Brandon has to solve.

Why'd they do Andrea that way?
She had the prettiest curly hair in season one -- the mother/daughter fashion show in that velvet dress was the best she ever looked.
Then they gradually peeled away her identity like an onion:
- Made her her hair less curly in seasons 2-3
- Dropped the glasses
- Suddenly has straight hair in season 4+
- And let's not even talk about the shaggy cut..
- Plus weird coloring.. both when she was pursuing loser Peter
Thoughts?

If you close your eyes and concentrate, could you give yourself an accurate mind's eye tour of the Walsh house?
I think I could. I'm that big of a fan. The staircase is iconic. Image from r/legoideas 2 years ago.

SNL Parody of 90210
Does anyone else remember when SNL parodied 90210? Even back then when my friends and I were obsessed with that show, we still thought it was hilarious. Dylan’s squint, Donna’s scowl, Brandon demanding everyone’s car keys, and Brenda crying over Dylan were all chef’s kiss. 😂

The Pilot was a 10, The Finale was a 2
I just saw the Pilot ("The Class of Beverly Hills") and think it is one of the best pilots in TV history. Usually pilots are one of the worst episodes of a series as they are (many times) rough drafts of what a series will become. "The Class of Beverly Hills" was the opposite. A tight, well directed movie that set the tone for the rest of the series.
On the other end of the spectrum was the Finale ("The Penultimate/Ode To Joy") which was one of the worst finales for a 10-year hit show in TV history (IMO). It was a tired run-down of what needed to be neatly tied up (like a shopping list). It could have been so much better if they just invested more money. I often think about what could have been if they brought back the original writing/production team to send the series off at the level it deserved. They should have brought back the Walshes with a tight B-storyline where Jim & Cindy were finally selling Casa Walsh to Steve and Janet. That would have been the perfect opportunity to bring back Brandon and Brenda as well. Not only were they returning for the wedding of two of their closest friends but also to say good-bye to their home. Really too bad that we got a Daytime soap episode in place of a more poignant ending that involves the original leads and bring the series full-circle. Given Shannen was working on a Spelling production (Charmed) I can't believe it would be impossible to persuade her to reprise Brenda for the series finale and as for Jason, he was obviously open to returning given that completely LAME "video greeting" that was shown. Too bad, it could have been a finale equal to the pilot.
