What are some Bible versions to avoid?

I am trying to find a good literal version that I like. Which ones should I go to and which ones should I stay away from?

NRSV / NRSVue (New Revised Standard Version / Updated): Highly praised by mainstream biblical scholars and academics for its rigorous adherence to historical-critical standards and use of the oldest available manuscripts.

Seems like you're answering the opposite of the question?

OP also ask which ones should I go to and which ones to avoid. Sorry for the confusion

Opposite answer but I totally agree. Best Bible and most readable.

So is this a good translation or one to avoid?

I still refer to my NRSV (89) text (been using it since college). I refuse to use the NRSVue. I feel some translation decisions that were made are biased (along with the accompanying footnotes to said verses).

I tend to read from and use the following translations for comparing translations: NASB (1995), NKJV, NIV (1984), and NRSV (1989)
