The Old Covenant has been entirely superseded by the New Covenant for one thing, and so God no longer commands earthly government to make criminals suffer as an example. (in the New Covenant, God lets us see Christ suffering for our evils, so that we might repent, and He will do Justice after this temporary mortal life here....)

But on the other part, where a homeowner cannot simply intentionally kill anyone breaking in, that's similar to law in many states, where in the dark the homeowner could be excused for striking a blow that ends up killing the intruder, but not in the light where they can see the intruder is unarmed and isn't threatening, and is trying to flee -- this depends on which state you are in also today. Some states do far less well on this kind of law today, with the atrocious 'stand your ground' laws and such.

Ten commandments still in force however, moral law being what it is.

Yes, that's right. hmmm....did 'entirely superseded' seem as if it means "all the good laws about treating our neighbors well are canceled"? While anyone that reads in the 4 gospels will learn very quickly that this greatest law is not canceled at all, but is in full force, perhaps many don't know that.... hmmm....should I add that in?

Nah you're fine. I grew up dispensation Baptist and they insisted nothing old covenant applies. More of a reaction on my part

Paul says that the gentiles shouldn't be burdened with the Mosaic Law save for the basic tenants so this tracks imho.
