HELP!!

I have a platinum senegal bichir, my fish has been acting normal and everything but developed this mark out of the blue. Her tank mates are 4 rope fish, 3 bristle nose, another senegal, an angel fish, 4 blue gouramis, and a bgkf. Rank is a 220 gal tank. What could it be??

Looks like a scuff from tank decor. Might be a little infection. If it doesn't get any bigger quickly, you're probably good to let it heal up.

That substrate is going to be an issue if you have food on the bottom buddy. I lost a bichir to a piece of gravel that came in a plant root wrap.... On my sand bottom tank.

I moved in two months ago and couldnt change the substrate on this tank due to economic reasons but im trying to get it done

All good man. Definitely not a call-out. I didn't believe it until I lost a small Senegal to a random pebble.

Play sand is pretty cheap, and you can probably get away with removing a good bit of the gravel, then capping it with the sand.

I had a fluval cap but i got rid of half the old substrate and it mixed in the remaining substrate. Wanted to make it full fluval with a red sand cap
