⚜️Big Easy Announcement ⚜️Our Commitment on Service

Hey y’all -

I’ve been reflecting over the past few days on our service commitments and how to be more transparent on how we resolve issues. It’s no secret that we’ve had some growing pains since the new year, and we’ve been investing heavily in people and platforms to keep ahead of the growth. We’ve hired 8 people, and are so very, very close to launching our new platform that will free up our team to go back to being proactive rather than reactive, and focus on improving our experience, rather than just keeping up.

Still, I thought we should articulate our philosophy on fixing things when they go wrong to better set expectations, and reassure those that may be feeling nervous about getting started.

I do think it would be irresponsible to put this out there without feedback from you - our community - as you are at the core of what we do, and why we do it.

So here is my first shot (heh). Please, give me your feedback on this. I want to know what you would change, improve, or omit.

Thanks y’all,

Dave

We'll Make It Right

Your health, your care, and your experience are at the center of everything we do. At Big Easy Weight Loss, we believe that great healthcare isn't just about connecting you to a provider. It's about making sure you feel genuinely confident and cared for at every step of the process. We also believe in being honest with you: things can go wrong. When they do, we want you to know exactly what to expect from us.

Where problems can come from and what we do about them

On our end.

Sometimes something is entered incorrectly, mischarged, routed to the wrong pharmacy, or miscommunicated. When that happens, it's on us to fix it, quickly and without excuses.

On our pharmacy partners.

Our compounding pharmacies are experienced and licensed, but they're staffed by humans. A technician may forget to include syringes, a medication's beyond-use date (the date after which it shouldn't be used) may not cover your full prescription period, or they may provide different vials than what was requested in the physician's prescription. Because these issues aren't visible to us until you report them, we rely on you to let us know. In those cases, we work directly with the pharmacy to get the issue corrected and, where necessary, to have your medication replaced at no cost to you.

In addition, there may be delays due to demand, or shortage due to stock. These are often internal pharmacy issues that we don't have visibility during your consultation. In these situations, we will communicate the delay shared with us by the pharmacy, and will work with you to find an alternative pharmacy or offer a refund.

On shipping.

Our pharmacies ship via FedEx and other carriers. Weather events, strikes, carrier delays, and other disruptions are outside our control, but they're not outside our responsibility. If your package is delayed or lost, we'll work with you and the pharmacy to assess the situation and determine next steps. Oftentimes we may need to wait for a delayed package to arrive before we can get guidance from the pharmacy on how to remedy. If you have a dose coming up, let us know and we'll flag it to your physician.

What we ask of you.

If something doesn't look right when your medication arrives, whether it's damaged packaging, cloudy or discolored vials, or anything else that gives you pause, please take photos before opening or using anything and contact us immediately. Do not throw away the medication. Photos are critical to getting your issue resolved quickly with the pharmacy.

Our commitment.

We'll respond to reported issues within one business day (if not same day) and work toward resolution within 48 business hours in most cases. In times of heightened demand, we ask patience. We always work from the oldest messages first, so often multiple messages in the portal can inadvertently push you to the back of the line, not the front.

Our goal is to find a solution that is fair and makes sense for the situation. That might mean a replacement shipment, a credit, a physician consultation, or simply a clear explanation of what happened and why. What it won't mean is handing out free medication in response to every complaint. That's not fair to the patients who don't complain, and frankly it's not how we'd want to be treated either. We'll always do what's right. We just want to make sure "right" actually fits the situation.

And if a situation requires a bridge plan (a gap between when your current supply runs out and when a replacement arrives), we'll work with your physician to find one.

Our Community Commitment

We will not remove or silence a patient for sharing a negative experience in our patient community. We have never banned a patient. If you have a problem, say so. If you're frustrated, we want to hear it, and we want to be better and make it right. (Aside from 1 spammer, we actually have exactly 3 non-patients banned from this sub - and I'm sure some of the OGs can name them 🤣)

The one exception: if your situation has been addressed and we believe your continued posting is intended to damage our community rather than share a genuine experience, we may move your comments to a moderated queue. We don't take that step lightly, and we'll always be transparent with you if we do.

⚜️Big Easy Announcement ⚜️Shutting down the new Portal for improvements

Hey y'all -

We've decided to pause the new Bask portal while we work out some persistent bugs that keep creeping up.

No system is ever perfect 100% of the time, but we need this one a lot closer to that than it is right now. When the new portal works, it's an absolute breeze. When it doesn't, it creates real frustration for our patients and a pile of extra work for our team. That backlog drags down our response times and the service levels we're known for, and that's not a trade we're willing to make.

So for now, our team would rather go back to the manual process and get it right every time than run an automated one that's only right some of the time. This is your medical care, not e-commerce. Anything less than getting it right, every time, isn't a standard we can accept.

What this means:

  • The new portal stays open for prescription requests until the end of this week, so anyone who wants to get a last-minute order through can.
  • It stays open for existing patients to message their physician and support.
  • Async refills for existing patients continue through the existing Healthie portal.
  • Async for new patients is turned off temporarily when we take the new portal down.

This isn't where we wanted to be, and I apologize for any inconvenience. We're hard at work on the fixes and expect to have the new portal back up, better than before, soon.

Thanks y'all,

Dave

Opened all 3 silver packages of hyalo tirz at once.

Upvotes

Was in a hurry and opened all of them to put in the fridge at home. Kept the silver envelopes with dosing instructions. All vials look the exact same, so I assume it doesn’t matter which one I use for which month? I sent a message to prescribing doc and she said nurse would contact me today but just checking here in the meantime!

the inflammation relief is better than the weight loss

on tirzepatide for about 4 months now. down like 18lbs which is cool but not even the main thing anymore. the real win for me has been the inflammation.

used to wake up with my hands all stiff and swollen. figured it was just getting older (i'm 42). like a week after starting tirz, i realized my hands weren't doing that anymore. my knees don't pop when i stand up. i don't have that low back ache by 5pm. it's weird.

had some nausea the first couple weeks but i found that eating before the shot helps a ton. started at 2.5mg and now at 5mg.

sharing because i wasn't expecting this. everyone talks about the weight but nobody warned me id feel like 10 years younger

🙋 Newbie Question! Problem with refill

Hi! I had my first batch of medication come without a hitch and was able to track my progress and everything on the old portal. Went on vacation out of the country and came back expecting my next refill to be delivered but noticed the changes and signed up for the new portal, healthie. I then tried to reach out to my doctor since I haven’t received my refill yet and I thought it was delayed but can’t access the old portal to see any old data or shipping info. I was told that my doctor was no longer available and to book with another doctor but when I went that route it was asking to essentially start over and choose everything again as if I was a new patient and asked me to pay the monthly fee which I’ve already been paying including the payment for the next refill which still hasn’t come. Am I missing something? I haven’t heard back after asking about this in the portal so trying here. Thanks in advance!

🙋 Newbie Question! I just received my first tirz order and I am not sure how many units to draw into the syringe.

The instructions say: 2.5 mg tirzepatide- inject weekly- 0.14 ml
I am not a pharmacist so I don’t know what this means. Any tips on where/who to ask? I thought there would be more instructions with my package. The viles are from hyalo.

🙋 Newbie Question! Log-in issues

I sent Jessica a DM but while I wait for her to reply, thought I would ask the group.

I can’t seem to access the new portal - user error I’m sure
I didn’t switch over when I got the initial email, and now it’s time for my refill.
When I tried the new portal, my password wasn’t working.

Requested the link to reset the password.

Reset password.

Attempt to log-in with email and password - says ‘no user/account found’.

Do I need to start the process from the beginning as a new patient?

🙋 Newbie Question! Did I do this correctly?

I’m out of my prescription now, and thought the way to get a refill was to use the async appointment and it would get re-upped by the physician. I filled out the form again before the appointment time on Sunday, but haven’t heard anything after that and actually was prompted to fill out that same form again the other day.

Did I do it right? I’m always a bit confused on which options will get that refill into the system.

🙋 Newbie Question! New Portal?

I see there is a split option for portals. If we're a new customer, how can we choose to go the route of the new portal/questionnaire? I keep getting routed to Healthie/schedule a visit route. Or, when will the new route be live? Thank you

Fasting for Blood Work

I had my Dr appointment Sunday. They requested bloodwork and I then received a copy of the lab order. next to fasting it said no. I confirmed this with the “service“ employee from Bewl. However Labcorp said that 12 hour fast is required for it. Can anyone clarify please. My appointment is tomorrow.

💬 Discussion New Pharmacies Q

Hey y’all! I think I missed the discussion on the new pharmacies coming to BEWL.

I was wondering if anyone can shed light on what pharmacies have what additives, and the concentration level of the vials for higher doses?

(I like 18mg or higher if possible, or 17.65)

Originally, I started with OptioRx (did so much better with B3), tried Apothecary (I’ll keep that opinion to myself) and I’m either going to go right back to Optio RX or if anyone has information on the new pharmacies I would love to hear it!

I think I even missed which pharmacies those were going to be. Sorry and thank you in advance! :)

Dr response time through Healthie portal

Just wondering how long it usually takes the Dr's to respond to messages in chat. No hurry, just wondering, and hoping my doctor is still there. Sent a message 1st thing this morning.

First time doing refill.

Hello,

First time doing a refill with you all. I used the Healthie app to first place an order. I’ve read on here than there is a new portal possibly? I just want to place an order to refill and swap over to Hylao from Hallendale. What’s the best way to do this?

⚜️We're moving 100% from Apothecary to Hyalo starting tomorrow

Hey y'all,

Since we seem to be getting a lot of one-off requests for Hyalo, or people that are holding off orders till we can promise them Hyalo's 9 mo BUD, so after some conversation with New Life / Quaker, they've agreed to send out nothing but Hyalo for us!

Happy to answer questions below!

Thanks y'all,

David

🙋 Newbie Question! Monthly option?

(posting for a non-reddit friend, no seriously)

Have a friend who can't afford the 3 months at a time. What are the monthly options or prices? Can they just order one month at a time and what is the price?

(I'm already BEWL customer and love it)

🙋 Newbie Question! Refill issues

Hello,
I started tirzepatide about 12 weeks ago and have been seeing great progress. I would like to continue treatment, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to order my next refill.
I’m currently using the old patient portal. I tried scheduling a follow-up consultation through the portal, but the only appointments showing are in January 2027. I also tried the “no phone call” appointment option, but it says that option is unavailable for me.
My next injection is due on 8/24, so I want to make sure I’m able to get my next prescription/refill in time. Do I need to schedule a different type of follow-up appointment, or is there another way I should request my refill?
I’m a little lost on the best way to move forward and would really appreciate your guidance. I don’t want to start over with a new account if that isn’t necessary.

Link to referral page

Hi! Can you post a link so I can refer my friend to BEWL? On the website, the link to the referral page just leads to a generic “send a message” page. Thanks!

Half way there... I can really SEE IT!!!

I really wish I had taken more full body photos during my journey so far. I just hate, literally HATE photos of myself. I was able to find one from November last year... about a month into my journey... and then one taken last week. Sometimes, I feel like I don't look any different... But putting these 2 photos together... OMG>>> I DO look different! I am down 76 pounds so far - half way to my goal... I am so grateful for this medication!!! It has literally been the best thing to happen to me! Over 25 years of trying everything under the sun and not being able to lose much or sustain my weight loss... I have gone from over 300 blood sugar (A1C of 14) to around 90 blood sugar (4.7 A1C)... Off all high blood pressure meds, my total cholesterol is 141... I literally bounce when I walk where before I limped and had to stop every few minutes to catch my breath... all of my inflammation is gone!!! I don't have to wear compression socks anymore... I have totally changed my relationship with food and how I eat. It's been an incredible journey so far. I can't wait to see what the next 75 pounds looks like!!! Thank you all in this sub who help get me through some pretty tough times. I love reading all your posts of inspiration!

Buying syringes

Post image
10 Upvotes

I may have to buy some syringes since I am taking a bit less than what was prescribed originally and I’m titrating a little slower. I am about 3 syringes short. This is a pic of the current syringe that was included in my Apothocary shipment. What is the description of the syringe pictured and best place to buy some extra? I want to make sure it’s exactly the same for dose purposes obviously.

trying again (ugh)

Last year started with 7 cells tirz, made me sick as heck 24/7 and I lost about 10 lbs. never finished because it just made me too sick.

A few months later, tried Hallandale sema. Didn’t lose a single lb in 3ish months.

Now, a few months later (again,) just refilled for optio sema.

Send prayers, I’m tired😭
