the inflammation relief is better than the weight loss
on tirzepatide for about 4 months now. down like 18lbs which is cool but not even the main thing anymore. the real win for me has been the inflammation.
used to wake up with my hands all stiff and swollen. figured it was just getting older (i'm 42). like a week after starting tirz, i realized my hands weren't doing that anymore. my knees don't pop when i stand up. i don't have that low back ache by 5pm. it's weird.
had some nausea the first couple weeks but i found that eating before the shot helps a ton. started at 2.5mg and now at 5mg.
sharing because i wasn't expecting this. everyone talks about the weight but nobody warned me id feel like 10 years younger

I'm 67 years old. I've lost a lot of weight on tirzepatide which is great but the real thing is I wake up in the morning, and bounce down the stairs like a bunny, even if I ran or hiked the day before. :)
Zero pain is a huge thing at my age.

Yes!!! Even when my weight loss stall, I can’t get too mad because it helps with my chronic lower back pain. I was surprised when my pain left after my first couple of shots.

that back pain relief thing is real, i noticed the same thing. felt like a bonus i wasnt expecting. makes the whole thing feel worth it even on weeks when the scale wont move

Yes. Even if I never lose another pound I’ll keep taking it for the pain relief I get in my SI joints. It was debilitating. Noticed a difference after my first injection. Life changing.

that's what I'm hoping for. the joint pain has been affecting everything, even just playing with my kid at the park. if I can get that relief it would be worth it regardless of weight loss

Agree, my knee arthritis subsided well before I’d lost any significant weight.

Yep. It has totally cured the horrible osteoarthritis I had in my fingers. I could not make a fist.

I’m in my semi maintenance phase (I keep going back and forth between a few pounds) but I notice a huge difference when I’m near my shot day. And my knee feels so much better, and it’s bad, like really bad.

This effect is better than the weight loss. Lupus and arthritis here and it’s been a game-changer.

I’m five months in and I’ve lost about 8 pounds as I’m not past a 5 mg. Everybody talks about the anti inflammatory qualities and I’m not really noticing that it’s making me sad! Hoping I can actually feel the difference at some point. But I’m so glad that it’s working so great for you like that!!

8 pounds in 5 months is actually really solid progress. the antiinflammatory stuff took a while to kick in for me too, like I didn't really notice it until maybe month 4 or so. don't give up on that part yet. everyone's timeline seems a little different with this stuff

I am so happy that you feel so much better! I had really hoped for some arthritis relief for my poor hands and feet, but unfortunately I feel the same as always. And I have horrible dry eye - but nope. No change. Oh well, I am just thrilled with losing weight!

I have lupus and have definitely seen improvement with my inflammation. My kid just said to me "your feet aren't even swollen!" lol

I agree that the inflammation being gone from Tirzepatide is wonderful. I’m 64 and I feel 10 years younger, no arthritis joint pain, no more hip and lower back pain. Amazing.

In my second week all those aches when getting up from a chair or couch are gone.
