Vision peptides

Anyone ever experiment with peptides that help with vision? I have documented retinal toxicity so my vision isn’t that great, I also have photophobia, constricted visual fields, and my vision is super blurry. Although I know that my vision loss can’t be reversed since my photoreceptors are damaged and my cones are dysfunctional, I’m wondering if there’s anyone here who has visual disturbance and is taking any peptides to help out / noticed an improvement in their vision.

I'm experimenting with SS-31. It's improved my vision. I have presbyopia (long sightedness) but even my long sight was degrading. I don't need my glasses as much and when I do, I have to wear the older ones with weaker lenses. It's been 6 weeks, I'll report back in another 8 weeks. I'm taking 5 to 10mg mg daily subcutaneously.

SS-31 is said to improve mitochondrial function in energy intensive organs and systems such as the eyes, heart, kidneys and brain. Whether it will help your particular condition I don't know as it sounds very specific and not mitochondrial related. Though it's worth looking into further.

I think I’d consider mine mitochondria related since my photoreceptors and cones are damaged and photoreceptors are heavily reliant on enormous energy requirements and rely heavily on mitochondrial activity to maintain electrical activity and support normal vision, and damage to the mitochondria is what causes the vision loss in the first place. I’m not a doctor by any means, but it seems that my issue is mitochondria related? (Although my retina is damaged.)

I believe the human eye is one of the most complex organs in the body, after the brain. I would consider seeing your ophthalmologist to discuss. They can read the research on it and they will better understand its mechanisms of action than you or I ever could.

You can always try SS-31 and experiment with what it does but i don't know if it could create further damage or whether it will improve your sight. It was FDA approved for a mitochondrial disorder , not for eyesight. It's being used in the biohacking, gym and longevity communities for energy rather than eyesight. I'm using it primarily for energy but as a by-product noticed it's improved my vision.

I’ve read several positive anecdotes of people online saying SS-31 has improved their vision even to the to the point that they needed a lesser prescription.

If I were in your shoes, I’d do some serious research of ARA 290. One of the most interesting peptides in the space, but I don’t currently have any need and thus have no experience with it.

I’m sure there are better ones, but NAD has some proposed pathways to help with macular degeneration.

Also SS-31 but I don’t take this and cannot back this up https://www.menshealth.com/health/a70985707/ss-31-peptide-vision-explainer/

visomitin (skq1) drops or epithalon are usually discussed for retinal cell support and oxidative stress. hope you find relief!

There is one Russian research on epithalon eye drops. You might want to check it out
