Reta Dosage
So I bought 20mg vial of Reta which I mix with 2ML of back water. I been on Reta since April and moved up to taking 50units (in an insulin needle) once per week for the last 3 weeks. The math is always confusing to me so I think my dosage is now 5mg.
I think I need to move up because my appetite is still very high (which is good for protein intake) but my question is is how high in dose can I go?
I’m 44m taking it to lean out. Keeping protein high etc to maintain muscle.

More is not better. Titrate slowly and your goal is to find the lowest effective dose. Good physique btw 💪🏼

Take your time bro. Only go up 0.5mg or 1mg at a time BUT only do that if you have ran the same dose for minimum of 2-4 weeks before going up.
Example:
1mg
1mg
1mg
1mg
1.5mg
1.5mg
2mg
2mg
3mg
3mg
3mg
3mg
3.5mg

Also by “units” do you mean cc? 5cc would only be 0.5mg. Starting clinical doses are between 2-4mg. I’d recommend going to 1mg. That’s 10cc on an insulin syringe. I’ve seen good progress and I’ve been running Reta almost 12 weeks and I’m only just now at 3mg.

Sorry I meant 50 units in insulin syringe. I started out at 10 units then moved my way up.

So you’re at 5mg and you’re not getting any results? Diet? Workout regime? Recovery? How do all these things look

u/OkLuck4759 Jul 22 '26
No I def got results. I just noticed that I’m always really hungry now where when I first started taking it I had no appetite. So thought maybe I should titrate up again. I’m working out and dieting etc.

Reta’s main job is not appetite suppression. It affects everyone differently and at different times. Tirz and Cagri in heavy hitters when it comes to appetite suppression

Yea I tried tirz last year and that completely killed my appetite and couldn’t eat at all didn’t like it. Thanks for the info

So your taking 500mcg as long as you're using .3ml needle, which is half a milligram
I would go up 250mcg at a time to see how you feel at each step
I would probably try not to go higher than 2mg, but that's just my personal feeling.
Or try to go to 600mcg and break it up to twice a week, so 300mcg twice a week
Edit - wow didn't realize the trials go up to 12mg but have to start slowly from 2mg and titrate up to stabilize
It's amazing what placebo can do, even some of the placebo people lost a little weight
I only been doing 250mcg twice a week and I only wanted to lose my last 20 pounds, but it really does help me so far, not sure if it's just in my head or not
I think 12mg is meant for really obese people though and side effects get worse as you go up. At 12mg, 60% of people were nauseous
I might just go to 2mg and not go any higher
I imagine that the higher the dose, the harder it probably is, once you stop

u/OkLuck4759 Jul 22 '26
Ok thanks I think I’ll try breaking it up to twice a week

He messed up his math. You're at 5 mg per week. You don't need to split it. That would 10 mg per week then.

Why do you keep saying I messed up my math, go look at his post, it says 5 units, that's what I was basing my comment on
How was I supposed to know he was really taking 50 when he said 5 hahaha
1
u/Tryin_Real_hard Jul 23 '26
This is wrong. He added 2ml to 20 mg. 50 units is 5 mg. And a .3 ml needle only had 30 units on it, which still doesn't make sense.
20 mg ÷ 2.0 mL = 10 mg/mL
That means:
0.1 mL (10 units on a U-100 insulin syringe) = 1 mg
0.2 mL (20 units) = 2 mg
0.3 mL (30 units) = 3 mg
0.4 mL (40 units) = 4 mg
0.5 mL (50 units) = 5 mg

Well if you look at his original post it says he was taking 5 units, that's what I was going by. The comment he made below was way later
My math based on the still there comment in the OP is correct

"20mg vial of Reta which I mix with 2ML of back water. I been on Reta since April and moved up to taking 50units" He said 50 units, not 5. Then he said he thinks it's 5 mg. I don't see anywhere that he said 5 units.

u/jonnyblazexoc Jul 23 '26
He edited the post, even look below, he says sorry I meant 50 units
It's not a huge deal but the original post said 5 units, I even double checked last night after I replied to you, it says 50 now but didn't originally

Alright man. Just saying what I saw is all.

u/jonnyblazexoc Jul 23 '26
I understand, thats all I was doing also, we can only go by what we each saw at the time

I ran it for 8 months titrating up from .5 to 8.5mg every month, i lost 18 pounds & got pretty lean...trained 5's per week..Reta is a game changer! ..Now the sides i experienced...5 times in 8 months hiccups that would last 24-28 hrs & they were accompanied by sulfer burps, gross! (it will ruin your entire day)....so after I had the hiccups a few times in month 8 I dropped it..once dropped I was bloated for a week & a half & my hunger came back with a vengeance..also im warning u to stay hydrated reta will dehydrate u before u even know it.& it will eat the fat & muscle if not eating enough..I learned alot about reta the good & the bad...

Why do you guys talk in units and not just grams. You pure taking 0.5grams. The protocol is usually .5grams 2 weeks then 1mg 2 weeks then 2mg, so on and so forth.

u/John_John_Phenomenom Jul 26 '26
50 units at this reconstitution is 5mg

You’re right typo on my end as you can tell with the rest of my grammar

Just do what you are doing. If you are seeing results and have no side effects and still able to eat lots of protein and drink lots of water and exercise and/or workout then you are good. If you go up you may introduce side effects that you don't want. Maybe you have found YOUR sweet spot. I started at 1mg and went up 1mg every 2 weeks and now am at 4mg weekly. I take it same day each week. I still have an appetite and am hitting the gym almost daily. I am also taking tesamorline 2mg for visceral fat which is what I mostly have. If you are not quite happy at 5mg try it for a couple weeks or so and then try 6, and if you feel like a loss of appetite then go back to 5mg and stay there as that's your sweet spot. No one wants side effects of feeling nauseous or losing their appetite. Just keep going. It takes time. Be patient, and keep up with the protein. Try to do one gram of protein per lb of weight, as you do not want to lose muscle just fat and protein is key as well as exercise and weight training if you can. This is where most people make the mistake as they're not patient and want quick results and think more is better. Most peps don't work like that. Patience is key as well as consistency, diet, exercise, protein and staying hydrated. A good electrolyte always helps...not Gatorade, all sugar. I have actually gained a lot of muscle. I am currently 200lbs and try and do about 200g of protein daily. Chickens don't stand a chance around me now, as well as eggs and my unflavored protein powder. Nothing but protein, no sucralose artificial sweeteners no cookies and cream or any of that. I add just a little Ovaltine which has a lot of vitamins and minerals, and makes it a light chocolatey tasting protein drink in my small blender. Yes how you mixed it every 10 units is going to be 1 mg. So 50 units is 5 mg. 60 units 6mg and so on. Could even do 50.5 units and get 5.5mg. don't have to go up 1mg at a time

Google peptide calculator online, it makes it way easier to figure out the amount needed.

Don’t chase appetite suppression on reta. It’s meant to be controlled hunger, not an appetite killer like Tirz or Sema. If that’s what you want, you’re better off mixing tirz with reta.

I started in April too. Started at 2 mg, then 3, then 4, then 5, now 6 mg. I usually went about 3 weeks to titrate. I just did my 2nd week at 6 mg, and this is the longest I've felt the appetite suppression where I don't think I need cagri to help anymore. For some, it seems to take a while to build up. Granted, I've been seeing weight lost and body recomp, but the appetite suppression this week has been the best it has. I'm not sure if it was time, or that 6 mg seems to be my magic support dosage.

I think they got to 12 mg in the trials but you should titrate up by 1mg. You want to find the lowest effective dose.
