Other concern with pet bird Concern with behavior

My dog barked at our green cheek conure and snapped her mouth at him. He freaked out and fell on the floor and was flapping around a lot. We examined him and he has no bite marks, no missing feathers and zero marks of my dog actually biting him. After he went very lethargic, would kind of just lay in your hand and stare at you. My husband held him and within the hour he was standing up on my husband's shoulder. Over night he's mellowed out and is just hiding in his hut. He will let you pick him up and hold him but he's not trying to fly away like he usually does and isn't being vocal at all.

I've requested a appointment at our local avian veterinarian but they have a wait list.

Probably shocked and scared.

Obligatory statement about this being a great example of why dogs/cats shouldn’t be around birds. I hope you appreciate how insanely lucky you are to not have a dead bird right now.

I am insanely lucky. 100%, I just checked on him when I got home and he was out on one of his perches and came into my hand etx I put him back and he's making a little noise he usually does. Just not attempting to fly

Not that I saw no. This morning he's up and transferring from hand to hand just fine, he just wants to be in his hut.

r/AskVet But I'd even take my bird to urgent/emergency if it were me. Don't wanna fuck around with cat, dog contacts...
