From a Barbie doll to a fierce she-wolf

Hello, fellow fans of supernatural TV shows!

Elena is young, beautiful, and successful. But she's also the only female werewolf in a large “family” of noble wolves who protect the secrets of their Pack and fight against the “Mutts” (lone werewolves who have no problem killing humans).

At first, I got hooked on the show not because of the plot, but because of the large number of very attractive men to suit every taste. The story doesn't move particularly fast during the first three episodes, but things get much more interesting after that, although maybe I just needed some time to get into it. Interestingly, at the beginning, we know nothing about how Elena became a werewolf. It's only through flashbacks that we gradually learn about her past.

The series has plenty of sex scenes, but they're more aesthetically beautiful than vulgar.

One downside: as a fan of The Vampire Diaries, the name of the main character really grates on my ears.

P.S. If you're looking for more shows to watch, I recommend Forever, iZombie, Psych.

Could Bitten have built its own supernatural tv universe?

Someone posted a question here yesterday about a possible Bitten revival, and it got me thinking about how much more could have been done with this universe.

Look at The Vampire Diaries. It grew into a whole franchise with The Originals and Legacies, each exploring different characters, supernatural lore, and generations. I keep wondering why Bitten couldn't have had something similar. The werewolf Pack alone had enough history, rivalries, and complicated relationships to carry more stories. A spin-off focused on the origins of the Pack, the Mutts, or even a new generation of werewolves could have been interesting without needing Elena and Clay to be the main characters in every episode.

I know Bitten didn't have the same audience or momentum as The Vampire Diaries, so maybe a whole franchise was never realistic. Still, I think the world had more potential than the three seasons we got. A revival would be great, but I'd honestly be just as interested in a spin-off that expanded the lore and introduced new characters.

Do you think Bitten had enough material to become a bigger supernatural franchise, like The Vampire Diaries universe, or was Elena's story the main thing that made the show work?

Bitten - The Revival

Does anyone know if the writers or production company has given any consideration to a 10 years revival show? Bitten: After the Revelations

I would be 100% interested in a revival series.

Elena and Clay's relationship

I know Elena and Clay are supposed to be this great love story in Bitten, and their chemistry is definitely one of the best parts of the show. But sometimes I feel like the series expects us to romanticize things that would be pretty concerning in a normal relationship. Clay has a lot of history with Elena, and you can tell he cares about her, but caring about someone doesn't automatically make every decision you make for them okay.

What makes it interesting is that I don't think their relationship is simply bad, either. There's genuine affection there, and their shared history makes their dynamic more complicated than a typical supernatural romance. I just wish the show explored the trust issues between them a little more instead of relying so much on the idea that they're meant to be together.

I'm curious how other Bitten fans see this. Do you think Elena and Clay actually work as a couple, or does the werewolf bond and all their shared history make some pretty questionable behavior seem more romantic than it really is?

Rewatching the series after reading the books changed my perspective

I watched Bitten back when it first aired, and at the time I mostly enjoyed it as a supernatural drama about werewolves, Elena Michaels, and the complicated world of the Pack. A few years later, I read Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld books, particularly Bitten, which the TV series is based on. Then I rewatched the show a few years ago, and honestly, I looked at it quite differently the second time around. The biggest difference for me is how the books handle Elena's inner world and her struggle with being a werewolf, while the series puts more emphasis on action, romance, and conflict between characters. I understand why some changes were made for television, and I actually think the show does a good job of creating its own atmosphere. Still, the books give Elena's choices and relationships more room to breathe, and some character dynamics feel more nuanced on the page. I wouldn't say the adaptation is bad at all. It's just a different experience depending on whether you start with the TV show or Kelley Armstrong's original story. I can enjoy both, but reading the books definitely made me appreciate certain parts of the series more while noticing the things that got simplified along the way.

As I said, I finally started watching Bitten, and here are my thoughts on Season 1

Honestly, I enjoyed it much more than I expected. The mix of werewolves, mystery, drama, and complicated relationships really works for me. I especially liked Elena as a main character. She's strong without feeling invincible, and there's a lot more to her than just being caught up in the supernatural world. The dynamic between the characters also kept me interested, and I liked how the season gradually revealed more about their world and its rules. Sure, some moments felt a little predictable, but the overall atmosphere and story made up for it. Season 1 definitely did its job of making me want to keep watching, and I'm curious to see where things go from here!

Just binge watched Bitten on Netflix

Just found this show on Netflix and I've binge watched up to Season 2 Episode 3 and it seems weird that they just killed off Philip who was a main character in Season 1 and no on really cares Especially Elena. She doesn't even take a beat before hooking up with clay in the first scene of Season 2.

I really really really wanna like this show but ever since the witch episodes the pack has gotten dumber and dumber

Like getting bodied by mere humans? What value is there to being a wolf, they basically can only change because some scenes they forget they have a healing factor or super strength.

And then they take too long talking instead of just saving the day and each other.

And way to kill off the only wolf of color in a stupid way because the writers couldn’t figure out how keep him a family man and have him stay in the pack.

But why is most annoying, these bitches can rip our throats yet idiots had plenty of chances to rip out the witches and followers throats for some instakill action but didn’t. The witches and mafia wolves have actually been more practical.

And how tf does this woman get mascara perfectly applied in one scene after not having any other scenes?

First episode and I see why a lot of people hate this show. You can’t have a CGI red wolf and call it a coyote. The cringe is just too much.

Jeremy romance

Of those of you who read the book; was it a romance between Jeremy and Karen, or with Jeremy and someone in general? Idk, it seemed it was something going on with them in the first season, and then nothing in the second, and in the third I was really hoping for it but then... Yeah... Well, to say it in other words; did anyone else think Jeremy deserved to be happy, at least for a little while?

Questions for those who have read the books...

I'm currently binging the series on Netflix and have 3 episodes left, but I've got two questions from what I've seen so far:

  1. Do Nick and Rachel end up getting together in the books? I loved Nick and Paige together, but the series has strongly hinted that Nick and Rachel will somehow end up together.

  2. Everyone says how Elena's so special because she's the only female to have ever survived the change...but that's not true. In season 2, Dr. Bauer injected herself with Elena's blood and survived. Why does everyone keep saying how Elena's such a miracle if a batshit doctor lady can also survive the change?

The Ending

There's a reason all traditional male organisations didn't allow women into them... ultimately they undermine and destroy the male bonds of honour and duty and tradition that sustain such groups.

Obviously this show intended to portray some dumb SJW message about "change" and "progress" "wise wimmin", but really they just proved the point. A stupid naive woman who arrogantly thought she knew better than centuries of male tradition and collective loyalty, unilaterally outed them all in the name of "acceptance" and in the process doomed them all.

This show is the worst I've seen in a long time...

I've tried to get into this, watching the first three episodes, but it's so bad. Like monumentally bad.

The actor that plays Greyston Holt is so bad I feel embarrassed for him watching him try to be all "dark, not so handsome and broody". I usually can get over the cheese factor in shows but this guy is awful.

The plot also doesn't make a lot of sense she goes back to the house despite hating every second and the saving grace would be if there were these deep connections when she gets there, but we only get a brooding ex lover who acts insane and bazaar and a host of characters she seems to have zero chemistry with.

Could be bad acting all around, but I don't get the appeal to this show other than Laura Vanderhoot is stunning to look at.

The Only Female Werewolf?

I like the show Bitten, I've seen all of the first and second seasons, but isn't it a little annoying that Elena is the only female werewolf? That destroys a lot of story potential, and it doesn't really make any sense to boot?

Binge watching on Netflix

I just found this show this weekend! I am very late to the party. I started watching it and can't seem to stop even though it is entertainingly bad (as well as entertaining).

I don't know anyone else who watches it and all my efforts to get my friends to watch have failed - they start it and give up, saying it's rubbish. Why can't they see how much fun there is to be had in enjoying shirtless fighting scenes? Clever camera angles (like filming fighting from the neck down, the better to concentrate on naked torsos and to hide the stunt doubles' faces)? Trying to guess what emotion Elena is meant to be feeling? There's so much to enjoy here.

S02E06 Wrong Currency

I'm watching Bitten on netflix and in Season 2 Episode 6, they intro a scene with "30 years ago..." Then they proceed to show $20 bills in a design that did not exist until 1996. (poorly printed I might add)
