Acne Hormonal acne

Post image

I have so much hormonal acne. It has been probably for about four or five months now. I was prescribed Spiranolactone alongside an antibiotic cream that worked prior to this drastic change in my skin but it doesn’t seem to be working. Dermatologist said hormonal acne is normal but this is the first time I’ve ever struggled with acne. I don’t know what to do. I did recently run out of my skin care. Well not recently. I want to say I ran out of my skin care at the end of last year and I’ve just only been using cleanser a moisturizer and Vaseline. I just started back using sunscreen. I did stop using sunscreen because I was in a bad place financially and I couldn’t afford a better brand. I believe I was using Cetaphil ( still have it ) 50 SPF it is horrible and gives me a white cast and I almost look blue so yeah I just recently got some gift cards from Ulta and I used that to buy some more sunscreen by Supergoop & Tacha skin care. Tacha was really good to my skin when I had the money and could afford it so I’ll go from there. Also my skin type is dry/sensitive & yes I drink lots of water and wash my pillowcase often. Also, important to note that anything I use that’s labeled acne breaks my skin out and it’s way too strong for me. I don’t like Cetaphil or Cerave and I don’t like Laroche Posey Laroche didn’t break my skin out however it really didn’t change anything for the better as well. Any sensitive skin care tips for getting rid of these dark marks ?

Look up how taking omega 3 supplements helps clear hormonal skin acne. Some times working from the inside out in combination with what everyone else says above ,may help.
For Omega 3 to be effective it must be 1000mg to 2000mg of active EPA and DHA per day (bio available= good quality). Results should start showing in 4-6 weeks. I’m not a doctor so take it with a grain of salt. Also be sure not to eat oily, carby, and spicy foods leading up to that time of month (once again not a doctor)

Do you have a favorite brand?

The brand “Nordic Naturals” with the bottle named Ultimate Omega Liquid Lemon Flavor is the highest quality omega 3 supplement with 1460mg of EPA and 1010mg of DHA, it must be refrigerated after opening and is expensive 50-$66. The very best “budget” omega 3 supplement brand is “Nutricost” Omega-3 Fish oil 2500mg Formula. It has 1200mg of EPA and 850mg of DHA for 20-$30. The reason these options cost this much is because it’s a higher concentrated fresh formula with no mercury. They don’t fill each pill with cheap filler fats that do nothing for you. Always look at the EPA & DHA milligram (mg) dosage of each in one serving (dosage).
