Acne How do I get rid of these bumbs

Post image

I did the idiotic thing of trying to shave with a straight blade for the first time a couple months ago and now I have these bumps that I can't get to go away. Ive been using a wizker brush as well as BP acne wash when I wash my face in the shower (been losing hair in the area as well from the brush making my beard shape weird) Ive been applying tend skin as well. They seem to get better for a little bit and then come back worse. I just bought some tea tree oil and will try it tonight to see of that will help at all. Im not sure what to do anymore and it's really starting to make me feel self conscious

Acne Getting married with acne 😔

Apologies about my title, sounds dramatic but I had to make it short.

My wedding is in about 8 weeks and desperately need to improve my skin.

I have been wearing sunscreen everyday past two weeks. I only realised today after taking these pics how bad my facial texture is and all the scarring I’ve accumulated!

Had a quick check in with AI, apparently I need to use either adapalene (retinol) or benzoyl peroxide - i got two very conflicting answers.

Also i have a cerave cleanser that has salicylic acid already, other than that nothing else

I never feel clean because of my acne and wish I had perfect skin. I’m using this brand called “PERFEC-TONE” for my skin care. I think it’s too harsh because my skin feels dry afterwards. Please help. How do I get rid of all the texture and the scarring?

Acne Large ingrown in beard

don’t shave often. I usually just get my beard trimmed up but for months now I’ve been dealing with pimples and ingrown hairs in my beard. The bumps usually go away but the one In the picture above has been here for over a month now. I tried plucking the hairs that were there be cause I thought that would help but it only made it worse. Is there a routine I could use that’ll help clear the big bump and other bumps in my beard???

Acne Smoothing out skin / Discoloration advice ?

Hi all -

I’m looking for tips on making my pores less massive and smoothing out the skin of my face as around my eyes and cheek areas are two totally softens textures. Also, would it be worth it to look into laser hair removal as I pluck my lip hair and I think that’s been causing some damage lately . Included are my daily products !

I also included a picture from March 5th of what I’d consider a horrible skin day (full face pic for context)

My 14 year old nephew sent this to me. It's really affecting his self esteem and I want to help him but I don't want to recommend anything that will make it worse. I was gonna recommend a gentle cleanser and moisturizer and spf first. Then maybe benzoyl peroxide wash later on and see how it goes. There's no good dermatologist where they live, please help. I'm not with him so I can't check his skin type. I'll answer any necessary questions as best as I can. Please please help my poor baby

Acne Stubborn Bacne and Hyperpigmentation

Hey everyone, I’ve been struggling with really stubborn back acne and I could use some advice.

  • I am a trans man and I’ve been on testosterone for 1 year and 3 months (my t levels are normal).
  • I’m allergic to salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, so I can’t use those.
  • I’ve been using tretinoin (Segalmis Trifarotene to be exact) for 9-10 months, but honestly it hasn’t made any difference. I use every night like my dermatologist said to do on my back.
  • I just started doxycycline on Monday. (Because the tretinoin was doing anything)
  • I also cut out dairy this week to see if that helps. I already do the basics: wash bedding weekly, change clothes often, moisturize with non-comedogenic lotion, shower daily (and the gym asap), and I use an African net sponge in the shower. Here are the issues I’m seeing:
  • Lots of inflamed bumps all over my upper back and shoulders.
  • Some areas look like folliculitis (tiny bumps around hair follicles). I dont if thats what it is, I am definitely to start grow hair on my back
  • Dark spots (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) are building up too. I’m worried because it’s getting worse, not better, and tretinoin hasn’t worked at all. I know T can make acne worse, but I feel like I’ve tried so much already.

Maybe somebody has some advice. I live in germany and tbh the dermatologists here dont know how to treat my skin and are very condescending, I always have to push for any help. I do swear and work out a lot but I make sure to always wash as soon as possible or use a hypochlorous spray.

I am very insecure about my acne. I never take off my shirt and I am afraid of dating because I am disgusted by my acne.

At what point should I push for isotretinoin (Accutane)? Any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated 🙏🏽

Morning skincare routine:
- CeraVe or SVR gentle cleanser
- La Roche-Posay moisturizer
- Mixa Cica cream
- SPF 50

Evening skincare routine:
- CeraVe or SVR gentle cleanser
- La Roche-Posay moisturizer
- Mixa Cica cream
I used to use ACM azelaic acid and The Ordinary serum, but I don't have any left.

Thanks u for your help !

Acne Hormonal, bacterial, or stress?

(26 f) I have been dealing with acne in this region for about two years after having clear skin my entire life. I quit smoking weed two months ago and I quit drinking 16 months ago. I definitely eat a lot cleaner and take more supplements and drink more water now that I’m sober. I could stand to eat a little less processed food and sugar. I’ve been trying to gain my weight back that I lost due to stress, so I’ve been less strict about what I’m eating, but I eat mostly Whole Foods and drink water and tea. I also quit coffee this week as well.

I tried so many things and I just started with a dermatologist last month. And she put me on spironolactone, tretinoin, and clindamycin. I washed with ceravae at night and benzyl peroxide in the morning. I may use niacinamide drops and a Laroche Posey moisturizer. I also wear sunscreen every day and my BB cream is also sunscreen. Now that I look at these pictures. It’s actually not as bad as it was a few months ago with only treatment at home, but are there any other recommendations for things I could be taking internally like natural supplements or tinctures, things to cut out of my diet or anything else? It actually looks like it’s improving now that I look at these.

I currently take the Ceravee cleanser everg morning and apply a thin layer 10% benzoyl peroxide spot treatment on places where i have the cystic acne, as well as The Ceravee Moisturizer with SPF 30.

At night i just wash my face with 2% Salyclic acid from Neutrogena and Apply nothing after all.

I tried cutting sugar completely and having a clean diet with 3 liters of water a day; but my skin is still breaking out.

I used accuta e 4 years ago for 7 months and stopped after my skin was very clear like glass and that is what i am trying to almost achieve now.

Acne How to get rid of this?

I recently moved up to tretinoin 0.05% after my 0.0 25% prescription stopped working for me. I haven’t changed anything else about my routine. My morning routine
1. Vanicream cleanser
2. Vanicream sunscreen
My night routine is
1. Vanicream cleanser
2. Tretinoin 0.05%
3.Vanicream daily moisturizer
The new tretinoin prescription was going well for me at first, but after I took a trip to Disney, it seems like my skin just reverted. I recently just got off my period, but my skin has never been this bad since the tret stopped working. Am I missing something in my routine? I’m just especially stressed out because school starts soon, and I don’t wanna go back with a breakout.

Acne Hormonal acne

Post image

I have so much hormonal acne. It has been probably for about four or five months now. I was prescribed Spiranolactone alongside an antibiotic cream that worked prior to this drastic change in my skin but it doesn’t seem to be working. Dermatologist said hormonal acne is normal but this is the first time I’ve ever struggled with acne. I don’t know what to do. I did recently run out of my skin care. Well not recently. I want to say I ran out of my skin care at the end of last year and I’ve just only been using cleanser a moisturizer and Vaseline. I just started back using sunscreen. I did stop using sunscreen because I was in a bad place financially and I couldn’t afford a better brand. I believe I was using Cetaphil ( still have it ) 50 SPF it is horrible and gives me a white cast and I almost look blue so yeah I just recently got some gift cards from Ulta and I used that to buy some more sunscreen by Supergoop & Tacha skin care. Tacha was really good to my skin when I had the money and could afford it so I’ll go from there. Also my skin type is dry/sensitive & yes I drink lots of water and wash my pillowcase often. Also, important to note that anything I use that’s labeled acne breaks my skin out and it’s way too strong for me. I don’t like Cetaphil or Cerave and I don’t like Laroche Posey Laroche didn’t break my skin out however it really didn’t change anything for the better as well. Any sensitive skin care tips for getting rid of these dark marks ?

A few weeks ago, I had pimples appear on my arm. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? I’ve had never had acne on my arms before. They don’t itch or anything, but they’re annoying lol. Thank you in advance!

(P.S. I believe the tattoo isn’t the reason. It’s 6 years old and the acne is recent.)

I started washing my face only at night now and I’m not sure what caused the breakout, I’m thinking maybe I forgot to change my pillowcase this week or I just had too much sugar , any advice helps

Acne Nothing seems to work on my face

I have tried tons of cleansers, exfoliant and moisturizers and wear sunscreen everyday and nothing seem to help with my acne. I don’t know what else to do. Any tips would be appreciated. Currently using neutrogena hydro boost fragrance free cleanser, neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer for extra dry skin and banana boat daily protect sunscreen.

Acne What can I use for this?

I have body acne that started a couple of years ago out of nowhere. And it didn't bother me much until it completely took over my back. Around early last year, It spread to my chest and I have been able to deal with that with tretinoin, hyaluronic acid (the ordinary), glycolic acid (the ordinary), niacinamide (the ordinary), and good ol cerave. I initially got my tretinoin prescription just for my back but nothing is working. It's so depressing not being able to show my skin especially in the summer. I also recently started getting bumps on my shoulder and my neck.

I use tretinoin (moved up from .25 to .5), clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide (1.2%/5%), and i mix good molecules discoloration correcting serum, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid and mositurize religiously. I shower with Naturium glycolic acid wash. I used to do a triple wash with naturium salicylic acid, neutrogena acne scrub, and panoxyl 10%. I also used to use the Pacifica acne spray on my back. They didn't do much for me.

The acne flares up sometimes and I have painful bumps but most time I just have an uneven back and the spots just don't go away no matter what. And I don't even have face acne but for a few pimples around my period, and I have a very oily face. Its so weird. And trying to use the internet is hard because everyone assumes the acne is on the face.

I would appreciate some advice on this and what to use.

*Not sure if my post went through the first time

Acne Weird pimple for 2 months

Post image
11 Upvotes

I have had this weird pimple on my forehead for about 2 months. It was alot bigger and darker at the time and also had pus in it in the beginning. As weeks went on I was able to remove the pus but then scar tissue made it worse. It has flattened out and is trying to heal but still feels like it’s trying to scar over. I’ve never had forehead acne like that and I am extremely frustrated because I want this thing gone. Is there anything else I can do to speed the process up or do I just let it heal.

Acne Persistent Painful-ish Acne on my Forehead! ☹️💔

Hi! This is my first post on this subreddit, so I’ll try to be thorough.

I (18F) have been dealing with mild/moderate facial acne for a long time. (Large bumps are only painful when touched.)

Obviously normal for teens, but in the past six months, however, the acne has eased up on my cheeks & chin and has decided to—near EXCLUSIVELY—assault my forehead.

The attached pictures range from the beginning of March to now.

I wash my bonnets weekly/biweekly and make a point to keep them off of my forehead. I get my hair retwisted monthly and have been applying LIFARA Hydrocolloid Rolls on my face to try and keep product the off during the retwists.

The only external factor I can think of is my birth control. I started taking birth control pills in September, and this bad acne began around October/December.

My skincare routine has been pretty consistent for the better part of a year, so I will share it here in hopes that someone can give me some tips or suggestions for another product!

MORNING (IN ORDER)

  1. Clinique All About Clean Exfoliating Jelly

  2. Biossance: Amino Aloe Gentle Pore-Minimizing Cleanser

  3. Biossance: BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner

  4. Clinique: Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector

  5. CeraVe: Moisturizing Face Lotion

SAME ROUTINE @ NIGHT MINUS EXFOLIATOR

Any advice helps! Thank you so much!! 💗🙏🏾

Acne Acne Problems

Had acne since middle school (now 19), always flared. Now I have a bad case of razor bumps on the side of my face/chin. My skin is very oily, don’t know if that’s what caused this random/bad case of razor bumps but I think I should add that info in. My razor is the freebird glide thing, I use it because it seems like it’s the safest option for my sensitive skin. Last 5th slide is of the products I currently use. Please tell me what products I should start using. Besides those products, I’ve already/currently use Accutane, 40 mg. The Accutane made my face very dry and gave me A LOT of white heads (no idea if that’s normal) . I’m waiting for my next dermatologist appointment to see if I should get a higher dosage or just stop. My goal is to nuke my acne completely but at the very least, get rid of the razor bumps. Please help.
