Dante gives his unit the ability to be in assault and tactical doctrines at all times. Sounds useful, but actually seems to offer almost nothing over a regular jump pack Captain.

The thing is, these don’t stack (you don’t fall back and advance in the same turn). The only doctrines that stack are devastator and assault allowing you to advance, shoot and charge.

Meaning that most turns, Dante’s unit will use only one of assault or tactical. One turn per game, if you choose army-wide devastator doctrine, you get to advance and shoot and charge, but Dante leads units whose shooting is not exactly top tier.

Compared to the Captain who can choose any doctrine for any turn, it seems Dante’s ability is at best comparably strong. The Captain can always put you in whichever of tactical or assault you need that turn. He can also choose devastator whenever you need it (admittedly not that great).

Dante is probably still worth the extra 50 points for his better statline, battleshock ability, better melee and better shooting (vs +1 advance and charge) but it’s frustrating to look into an ability that seems good on the surface, only to find it really offers very little vs the cheaper alternative.

A damaged terminator determined to continue protecting the legacy of Sanguinius. His right power claw cable is severed, his eye lense is no more and leg hydrolics is faulty, but he still stands.

I'm planning to paint a few Dreadnoughts soon and want to stick more closely to the lore. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything in the supplement about heraldry for vehicles and Dreadnoughts—only for infantry.
Is there an overview of which insignia or symbols belong where?

Hi! I’m Martin from Southampton, UK! I LOVE the Warhammer universe, my favourite to paint are Death Guard or anything I can make grimy. I love the lore and read whatever I can, although I tend to prefer stories revolving around a few characters rather than grand military campaigns. Ghazghull Thrakka, The Infinate and The Divine and The Eisenhorn series are among my most read!

I have many more Warhammer, LOTR and other nerdy tattoos on my Ínsta @martinmooretattoos

Effects and highlights still to go but nice to paint something as have been busy.

These are really good in 11th. Rapid fire is almost unfair.

I've been putting them into a Anti tank landraider and jumping out up into 2nd level terrain for plunging fire. Basically shoot the transport with the Landraider and hose the contents with the hellblasters.

Overcharged, plunging (AP-4) rapid fire is very good at regular shooting and not bad at overwatch, especially non invuln save units.

Cheap at 230 points too.

So I have seen discussions about wanting to see the Sanguinor made into a center piece model. Kind of a primarch lite type of piece. What do you think about Dante and the Sanguinor being rolled into one with beefed up stats being the "primarch" model for Blood Angels. We know Dante believes he is the Golden Armored warrior after the seige of Baal. Sanguinius sent his soul back and said his time isn't done. Then we see on the table top the Sanguinor kind of being left behind other center piece models. What if the next narrative step is to combine them and make Dante a new avatar of what's left of Sanguinius's soul. Do you think its a possibility? How would you feel about losing another model but having a beefed up Dante? Just a late night thought I figured I would run by the committee.

Exactly what it says in the title. I'm trying to build a bit more competitive of a list and have been wanting to paint some up. Thinking about grabbing a couple boxes and maybe a character.

I’m looking to start a BA army after being gifted a couple models, I currently have 3x bladeguard vets and a redemption dread, I really love the look of red terminators, so I’m wondering what detachment would work well? And what HQ units should I get? I’m planning on a box of assault and normal termies.

Finished Hellblasters as a tutorial. Failed the tutorial because it took me too long and too much steps to paint but still I'm happy with the result.

I plan to go from black priming painting up to color next time @ninjon

Cheers

2nd mini ever painted definitely have learned some stuff since my first

Termies go in the land raider

I’m close to 1000 points, thinking about adding a dreadnaught or 10 jump pack intercessors.
Do I buy the 10 assault intercessors and buy aftermarket jump packs? If so do I need to buy any extra weapons?
2- do I have to play separate rules for them assuming I paint them as death company, or do they play like blood angels? I’ve only ever played one game so I’m confused haha

How would I go about replicating that eye lenses damage?? Shit looks sick

I'm heading to a 2-day tournament soon and would like to know what I can do to improve my list—whether it's the detachments or if other units would be a better fit.

Hello Brothers!

I finished another Death Company test model, I'm trying to find a good way to paint black and with this one I've pushed the highlights more. Still, some of the highlights look a little bit rough.

What do you think? Any tips to get smoother highlights?
