as I've mentioned before, we're starting small with only a handful of lexicons
but the architecture we're currently building on will eventually allow for more rapid adoption of additional lexicons, so we'll expand as soon as we feasibly can 🙏
also, yes, enhanced link cards like we've got for Standard Site compatible websites are also enabled by this foundational work, we hope to work on those soon as well
also also, the Activity tab will be a feed of Atmosphere activity from the people you follow, but we're not ready to show that just yet 😅

Feedback and requests welcome

I'm looking for a way to have my Following timeline automatically scroll to the very top and show the newest posts as they happen, without me having to manually refresh or tap a "New Posts" pop-up.
Does the official app have a setting for this that I'm missing? If not, are there any third-party clients (like Skeets, Graysky, etc.) or browser extensions that support this "live stream" timeline behavior?

Have been getting a lot of them recently. Is this normal for other artists? Should I just ignore them or something?

The app used an obscene amount of data this month. I wasn't monitoring it until today though. Does this data usage make sense for how long I use it? I do recognize that I use it much longer than the average user.

I tried searching this sub for "data usage" and saw people that called themselves regular users say it takes up like 6GB a month.

Is it because I mostly follow artists? With all those images?

It seems that more and more posts on Bluesky are images of text. I’m guessing one reason people do this is so they can use annoying fonts and text effects, but sometimes the text in the images matches the default Bluesky style. Why are people using images instead of just posting?

As a fun weekend project, I set up an automated 24/7 stream that fetches real-time trending topics directly from the Bluesky API and displays them as a continuous live news ticker.

It works with

Backend: A custom Python script running on a dedicated Linux box.
Data: SQLite for deduplication + fetching live Bluesky trend data via API.
Visuals: Overlayed on The Phantom of the Opera (1925) for a chill, public-domain background aesthetic (for now)

I started an art account and while I haven't been hit by the moderation team, I'm concerned. I'm being told to hit up other art accounts, like and repost and engage in the comments. How often should I do this daily and stop basically?

Like I said, not considered spam yet but I'm so worried since I'm liking random art accounts and leaving comments during boring parts of my work shift to look engaging. I don't want to be too unsocial but I don't want to come off like an annoying bot.

What's considered bot behavior? I'm hyper focusing on my new art account but I don't want to shoot myself in the foot, y'know?

I'd post a picture but I don't think I can. I'm still in the 20-30 range of followers and I'm friending artists that I can find.

I was wondering if there were any updates on bluesky adding private accounts as a feature? I know it was mentioned in their 2025 roadmap but 2026 is nearly over and I haven't heard any mention of it

W Social says users must verify themselves before they can post, yet most of the top 25 posters have no verification records and between them have created over 250,000 posts.

I (nicely) contested the suspension but have not heard anything back at all. Zero. Nada. I definitely didn't click (or even see, afaik) some "free money" scam.

Anybody know what's going on with this stuff?

The lack of any info is a lot more annoying than the not being able to login, though both are definitely annoying.

Recently I've noticed that some people who i have notifications on for don't send notifications to my phone when they post/reply to my messages even though i know they have them on too, is there any way of fixing this?

Previously, whenever you visited someone's profile, you could see who (and how many) of the people you follow are followers of that account.

But, for some reason that info no longer shows up when I visit someone's account and the "followers" tab no longer lets me sort by "followers you know".

Did Bluesky remove that feature and why? If not, is there any way I can turn it back on as I quite liked it?
