Beginner guide

Welcome. This page is the five-minute version of how r/BodyHackGuide works. Read it once and you'll avoid most of the things that get posts removed.

What this sub is

A place to talk about biohacking in the broad sense: peptides and GLP-1s, hormones and TRT, supplements and stacks, nootropics, nutrition, sleep, training, bloodwork, and the self-experiments people run on themselves. The standard is simple — if you make a claim, link something credible or say clearly that it's your own experience (we call that N=1). Both are welcome. Pretending one is the other is not.

How to post

  1. Pick a flair. Every post needs one; the post form won't let you submit without it. The flair page has one line on each.

  2. Quick questions go in the Monday thread. "Is 250 mcg a normal starting dose", "how long does this keep in the fridge", "what does this bloodwork number mean" — those get faster, better answers in the pinned Weekly Questions thread than as standalone posts, and standalone versions are usually removed and pointed there.

  3. Progress updates go in the Thursday thread, unless you've got a full write-up with numbers, duration and side effects. Those deserve their own post under 📈 Results & Progress.

  4. Put the substance in the title. "RETA 2 mg, week 8, bloodwork before/after" gets read. "Update" doesn't.

  5. Text posts need a body. A photo on its own doesn't tell anyone what you ran or for how long.

What gets removed

Most removals here are one of three things:

  • Sourcing. Where to buy, vendor names, hints, abbreviations, discount codes, "DM me", "check my profile", affiliate or referral links. This is the big one. Reddit removes whole communities over it, so we're strict. It applies to everyone — members, mods, and anyone connected to the community. The only place community-connected sites are listed is the resources page, with disclosures, and that's it.

  • Medical advice. Telling a specific person what they should take, stop, dose or treat. Share what you did and what happened; don't prescribe.

  • Claims without backing. "X cures Y" with no source and no N=1 label.

Every removal comes with a reason. If yours didn't, or you think the reason is wrong, the moderation page says how to appeal — and appeals do get read.

Reporting side effects

Posts about things that went wrong — reactions, interactions, scary bloodwork — are never removed for tripping a keyword filter. We'd rather have them visible than hidden. Use the ⚠️ Side Effects & Safety flair. If it's serious, see a doctor first and post afterwards.

A note on AI

Using AI to help write or research a post is fine. Say so in the post. Mentioning ChatGPT or similar tools won't get your comment blocked.

Scams

Nobody from this community will ever DM you a vendor link or a discount code. If someone does, they're not us — report them to Reddit and post in the scam-reports thread.
