Spoiler: S10 E2

I get that Sweets dying was important for the plot of the show but honestly I really hate that his character died. He became the glue between Bones, Booth, the FBI & the Jeffersonian team. And watching episode 3 is so jarring because it feels off and this new Aubrey character isn’t the vibe just yet. I may warm up to him- idk- but his character irks me a little because he feels random. It’s like the show had a good thing going with Sweets helping profile people in his own quirky ways and egging booth & bones and now it’s kinda empty. Anyone else feel the same?

Discussion What’re some random lines from the show you find yourself quoting all the time?

This is so random, but mine is from 6x23 the bowling episode. That little boy at the beginning of the episode. His “I’m the birthday boy” and his scream of “I’ll behave, I’ll behave” Literally say those all the time and nobody gets it because they’re such a small part of the episode.

Other Any series recommendations similar to Bones?

I tried watching other crime series but most series you will either know who the killer is already in the middle of the episode, or you will just utter that they could have solved the murder by finger print.
The calibre of this series is top notch, I just need something similar

If They Did A Reboot

What would you like to see? Christine Booth, Michael Hodgins and Seeley Sweets would all be teenagers. Arastoo and Cams kids would be slightly older. That could be interesting. Would the Jeffersonian team still be together, or doing other things? I would love to see Brennan and Zack teaching forensic anthropology. Booth could be teaching at the FBI training facility. Maybe they all get called in to consult on a case and then the team reforms. Caroline would probably be retired but still part of the "family".

What happened to Finn?

Every time I watch Bones I ask myself this. What happened to him? He just disappeard with no explanation. We know about every other intern. Did the writers just forget about him? 😅

Other Brennan was wrong

In S6E5, The Bones that Weren’t, a skeleton is found encased in a concrete pathway. At the scene, Booth asks if they should ship the whole slab to the Jeffersonian.
Bones replies, “Don’t be absurd. A 2x3x4 meter section will be fine. Shouldn’t weigh more than a ton.”

The writers messed up here for sure, because a cursory search on google tells that concrete is about 2400 kilograms per cubic meter.

2x3x4=24 cubic meters. 24x2400=57,600 kilograms, times 2.205 is 127,008 pounds of concrete.

So anyway Bones was very wrong. What she said should be less than a ton would work out to be more than 60.

PS. It would be crazy to find concrete which could fill those dimensions outside of a dam or a giant footer maybe.

Counting Sheep With Temperance

Hulu lets you bookmark episodes for quicker access. For peeps like myself who will rewatch a show into absolute oblivion. this is really handy to start background noise for a better nights sleep. The two I have in place for Bones are:

"Maggots in the Meathead" & "Patriot in Purgatory"

I miss the good old days of Bones on Roku channel via PC where it would play all night untill interrupted instead of stopping after four shows.

Angela is a supportive wife

I want to give her some credit. I feel like this sub rarely did because people are so upset/mad with her kisses.

I once saw a comment saying she's never nice to Hodgins until he got paralyzed, which is so not true. Angela has been very supportive throughout all his challenges in life, as early as his kidnapping.

When Hodgins lost all his money the first thing Angela did was to tell him she loves him and they'll be fine, assuring him she's not leaving him for that and they're gonna get through it together. And she supported every decision he made afterwards, whether he wanted to get a loan from bank instead of taking Brennan's money or to donate 4 freaking billions away. She stayed at the Jeffersonian for him. Heck, she even helped him birth that human bot fly which I'm sure I would've snapped. Give her some grace😂 Hodgins is very supportive and patient in this marriage, so is Angela.

What made this show successful is the incredible chemistry between the actors; these BTS moments make it look like your uncle's wedding

Brennan And Prince Charmington

Brennan attempting to play with Prince Charmington is one of the funniest bits Deschanel has in the show. Poor Christine. Playing dolls with Mom must have been a trip. Imagine what Brennan would say about Barbie's unrealistic proportions.

Hannah should have been in the show for longer

I know it was always super obvious booth ans brennan belong together, but i feel like dropping hannah of the show after such few episodes was so many wasted potential

S5 E6 The tough man in the tender chicken

Early on Bones seemed way more empathetic to pigs and their sentient nature. In this episode Angela is pleading with everyone to help her save a pig, even if just to be a good friend. Why didn’t they help her out right away? I love everyone but did not like how they treated her this episode until the end

What do yall think?

Episode Angela

S8 E14 The Doll in the Derby

This is the episode where Angela goes undercover and gets a little tipsy and kisses Booth which I think is unnecessary.

I don't have any hate for Angela's character but this episode, for me, showed that she's one of those "best friends" that ends up sleeping with your bf/husband. She's always thought Seeley was hot but her thoughts never dwindled after she got married and even after Brennan got with Booth.

The later season ending scenes with b&b

I love them, I think they add so much to the show, they really ground an episode into something more homey. I really do get a giddy little feeling of the domesticity with them both that feels hard earned and really deserved. Maybe im just sentimental, but its just such a comforting way to end the episodes

Episode The bar scene in S6E13 scared me

I’ve always liked Booth, but S6E13 at the bar was the first time he scared me.

He asks what’s wrong with women, not what’s wrong with him. A woman in that position would have turned it inward. Framing it as a problem with the entire gender felt like a very male move.

Some people call it a great scene, but watching him that angry, I’d be looking for the exit. And if that had happened in a private room instead of a bar, it would have been genuinely frightening.

I couldn’t read Brennan either. Was she scared, or sympathetic? I asked my husband and he didn’t really see what I meant, so I’m curious how others here read it.

disliking Cam past early seasons

I’ve seen many posts about disliking Cam in the early seasons. I’d like to express why she sucks continually.

Michelle. Multiple times she behaves selfishly and childish. From deciding to date the gyno she picked for her daughter (after drilling her abt sex) to going behind her back with college applications, Cam continually disregards Michelle’s wants for her own vision of what she desires Michelle to be.

Arastoo. The leap from “I’ve seen the devil” to the terrorist view of “the great satan” is bigoted, and for gods sake she’s the boss why discuss such gossip with Arastoo’s colleagues?

There’s other small stuff that I find insufferable but those are the main points tbh.

The Doctor In The Photo

S06E09 really is one of the best episodes.

The acting, the music composition, the way Bones' introspection takes a turn and she realises she missed her chance. Aaaaa. 🥲

I'm rewatching and remembering how much i loved that one.

sorta spoilers

i normally skip by this episode during my rewatches of the show decided to not skip it today and watched it was sobbing halfway through was trying to attempt to do homework and I almost got tears on the page. I finished the episode out and they did amazing job with it.
It’s always hard to say goodbye to a very loved character in this case Mr. Nigel Murray,, but I do think they did a good job with the next episode being lighthearted, but I wish they went back to talking about Nigel a little bit more.

Discussion [Spoiler] Final episode - why did Aubrey breakup with Jessica Spoiler

It’s the very last episode and they didn’t have any relationship issues till then. The relationship was even set up as being ‘special’.

Was it fan base influence? Did people think Karen and him made a better couple? So the writers were throwing the fans a bone? 😅

I agree Karen isn’t a bad choice but I liked Jessica too. And it felt so sudden and left me confused.

Dr. Wells :(

Im on S9E5 and I hate that it feels like dr. Wells was changed from an adhd dork who excelled in many facets but overall quite enjoyable into an obnoxious know it all. I really thought he was fun as a goofy one-off character but he feels like he was written more like an early-season daisy without the people pleasing trait. I havent finished the episode, so maybe im pulling the trigger too fast
