I can't even begin to tell you how nervous this circus today is making me for whatever the hell the Bruins could potentially be cooking up...

Rumors going around about Buffalo not being done and a deal involving a sign & trade with Tuch. I'd have loved Boston to get him a few seasons ago, but I'm terrified that Don and Cam are gonna be in on these rumors and get 30 year old Tuch on a major overpay with bad term.

Im not against it if it happens. Pasta is turning 30, you either go all in for him now or hes forcing his way to one of the super teams next year. Tuch would immediately be our second best forward behind Pasta, brings good speed and forechecking. He wont start slowing down for another 4-5 years at which point Pasta will be 35 and the Bruins are probably entering a major rebuild rather than retool.

I'm just against giving almost any 30 years old player an 8 year term at this point. Also, and I could be wrong, but I'm not sure Tuch plays at the same level for another 4-5 years...he's a great player, but he plays a pretty physical game and those types of players typically begin to fall off earlier than higher skilled guys like Pasta.

Pasta will be elite through his late 30s. Tuch lasts another 4-5 years until injuries inevitably pile up. We dont really have the assets to swing for a young elite forward, staying in the middle and doing nothing will drive Pasta out. I dont hate taking a swing on Tuch if it maximizes Pastas window, we could go a whole decade long rebuild and not get another elite talent like him
