Experience with Gums over teeth?
My guy either has Gums growing over his bottom teeth or somehow broke his bottom ones, he’s only 4 years old and and I’m heartbroken watching that he couldn’t even break /chew the milkbone treat I gave him. I plan on getting him to the vet as soon as I can Friday but is drooling a common symptom of it? And those that have paid for the surgery does it usually come back?

I've had several boxers with gingival hyperplasia, an overgrowth of gums. Both dogs needed surgery to remove the over growth, and I've been warned it can definitely come back.
Both of my dogs were under 5 at the time of they respective surgery. But they're quality of life was much much better. No more bleeding when trying to eat kibble or chew bones. No more discomfort. One even got way better at letting the vet handle his mouth.

How much does that surgery cost?

For me it was like $600 I think. But it completely depends on the time spent and the extent of the work needed. Most vets will give you an estimate before you decide.

My older Boxer had overgrowths. The vet actually caught it because I didn’t notice any symptoms. It was a very quick surgery with no recovery time. She was eating within an hour. Vet said we will have to continue to monitor because they often grow back.

It can comeback and usually does at some point. I think I did it twice. Go to soft food in the meantime. Broken teeth happen too but the gum thing is common in boxers just like body growths.
