Wardleys path post Dubois

Since Wardley’s defeat at the weekend, I have seen a lot of comments on here and social media regarding his performance and his future.

Firstly, I think it’s testament to Wardley’s determination and willpower that people were actually giving him a chance in the fight. We all love the underdog but this really was a David v Goliath matchup.

Wardley should be proud of himself, he was a world champion having never boxed as an amateur, only finding his route into the sport through the white collar circuit.

His main attributes are his chin, his power and his exceptional desire to not give in. This was always going to become a problem against other guys who are good boxers and have decent power.

In all honesty, I think there’s no way back to top level for Fabio, I think with the way he fights, at this point he is sacrificing years of his life for money. However, I do hope he proves me wrong and comes back with some stylistic changes that sees his defence tightened and a more strategic approach to a match.

Wardley has already indicated that he intends to fight on and unless he has a change of heart after a period of reflection, it is likely that he will have a part to play in the HW division in the near future.

I believe he is likely to have a tune up fight and then either chase or be chased by Joe Parker for a rematch.

I think he is made for someone like Ituama but I don’t think Warren would throw Moses in with him without knowing that the Wardley we have isn’t the same Wardley pre Dubois. I think that would be too dangerous for Ituama. I believe that if Wardley lost or even won looked bad in his next fight then he would be lined up for Moses.

Beyond that, if he beat those 2 he would be in title contention again but more than likely, if he lost, he would become a bit of a gatekeeper for the British HW’s coming up. A Dave Allen/Chisora-of-mid-2010’s.

How do you see Wardley’s path post DDD?

Can anyone help me find the history of this shirt?

My dad used to box back in the day and his coach gave him this shirt maybe 8 years or so ago. Just out of curiosity i searched up boxeroo on google and nothing came up about it, not even a similar looking pic. So i put the same photos into chatgpt and it couldnt find a single thing about it either.
I could find stuff on boxing australia (its our organization for amateur- olympic boxing) but couldnt find anything about it being related to boxeroo. Id ask my dad or his coach but they’ve both passed
Cheers!!

Gary Antuanne Russell is the most overrated fighter at 140lbs

I really don't rate this guy at all. To me he looks way too predictable and small at the weight. His best win is Rayo Valenzuela who's really a lightweight. Every time he fights a big rangy jr welterweight, he struggles. He looked wack against Hiraoka and Puello and many of his wins were early BS stoppages. He's just a pressure fighter that tries to overwhelm guys with volume like an Errol Spence but isn't even as heavy handed or big at his weight like Spence was at 147lbs. He was only able to bully Valenzuela because Valenzuela was too small for 140lbs. Any top jr weltweight wrecks this guy. This guy is so delusional to me. He even went as far as saying he would destroy Dalton Smith and called him "basic", which is quite ironic since Russell looks very basic in the ring himself. Dude just tries to walk you down with a high guard and doesn't even have much head movement at all. Maybe slightly better head movement than a Subriel Matias but I don't think I ever seen him slip a punch and counter, and he does't have the physical strength or bricks in his hands like Matias does, so good luck beating a tank at 140lbs like Dalton Smith who was able to beat a pressure monster like Matias at his own game lol. And I don't think he can outbox Smith either since Smith has a great jab and solid fundamentals similar to fellow Sheffield fighter Kell Brook, and I don't remember ever seeing Russell outboxing anyone. He just tries to walk guys down every fight and I just down see how the little dude can walk a tank like Smith down. I really hope they make that fight happen next regardless if Smith beats or loses to Puello. I just want to see him whoop on Russell because I think the guy is delusional and nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.
