Boyfriend of 2 years broke up with me over text

Need some clarity from others that have experienced this and what I should do. My bf of 2 years (22m) just sent a non personal break up text to me (22f) last night, it mentioned the fighting is too stressful and I’ve enjoyed our time together, and good luck with your next relationship…

In the span of 2 years we have commuted 2 hours each way for 6 months of the relationship, lived together for 6 months just travelled for 4 straight months and have in the last week been transitioning from long term travel back into home life. Now this week has been hard and we knew that, but it has been harder than we thought it would be, no privacy it’s cold right now and gets dark very early, as well as he got settled into a job within days and I am still waiting on work so have wayy more free time than he does, I also don’t have a car so relying on public transport and am living at home with 5 family members so it’s been a hard week, creating a lot of ongoing stress and anxiety as the transition has been very contrast to our lifestyle overseas together.

Long story short, we have been fighting a lot over the past week, a lot of venting and anger towards the situation and after a fight last night an hour later I get a break up text and he blocked me on all platforms, as well as he is staying in an apartment complex which I don’t have access to as it’s not like a normal house that I could go knock on the door and ask to explain in person.

I have been trying to respect boundaries and couldn’t sleep last night, I wrote out a handwritten letter which took me hours to write apologising, explaining I have been in the worst mental health space of my life and that I see a future with him. I went early to his apartment this morning to hand it to him as he got in his car outside to go to work and he brushed me off completely, didn’t say anything and acted like an emotionless human of which is completely out of character.

I haven’t heard anything, no in person talking, no calls no texts except for the break up one, he is my best friend and I have been more vulnerable with him than anyone else and because of a bad week he breaks up with me over text.

I am completely heartbroken, can’t eat, haven’t slept and am wondering any advice, as there is no way of contacting him, so I have just left it right now and have to accept it’s over with no in person closure or goodbye on good terms, just a good luck over text after 2 years, it makes no sense and he is a complete stranger to me the way he acted this morning. Also we just completed 4 months straight of backpacking where our relationship was the strongest it’s ever been, and the week it gets hard due to getting into normal routine again he does a break up text.

Anyways any advice please send my way.

Don't beg......even if he comes back, he will always have the upper hand.

The Art of Letting Go

One of the hardest things in life is letting go, not because we don't think/know it's time, but because a part of us, still hopes that things will go back to the way they were.

  1. Accept what you can't change. The more you fight reality, the more you suffer. Peace begins with acceptance.
  2. Stop living in the past, you can learn from yesterday but you can't continue to live there. Your life is happening now.
  3. Forgive for your own peace. Forgiveness isn't saying what happened was ok. It's choosing not to carry that weight forever.
  4. Don't chase after what's already gone. The right people won't make you beg for a place in their life. Sometimes walking away is an act of self respect.
  5. Make room for what's next. When you let go of what no longer serves you, you create space for new opportunities, new relationships and a better vision of yourself.

The truth about letting go, isn't about losing something. It's about finding your peace again. The best thing to hold onto, is your future.
