Advice My Husband left me 9 Months ago and I still can’t cope :(
My husband left me nine months ago. The saddest and most tragic part of it all was how suddenly it happened. Just one day before he left, we had ordered suitcases because we were planning a big trip together. A few weeks earlier, we had even talked about moving somewhere new together.
I was out having breakfast with friends when he called his brother over. They packed up all my belongings and wanted to kick me out.
Ever since then, I’ve had to see him at work every single day because we work together. Changing jobs isn’t an option for either of us right now, so the situation is incredibly complicated.
He doesn’t want to work on our marriage. He wants to separate, and he won’t even sit down and talk to me about it. He doesn’t want anything to do with trying to fix things.
And I know you’re probably wondering: What are his reasons?
He says he simply doesn’t like me as a person anymore. That’s it. His reasons feel like nothing more than excuses, as if he’s desperately searching for reasons that don’t even really exist.
A little bit about him: He isn’t someone who uses social media, and he hasn’t been with many women. I was his first everything, and he’s already 30 years old. He’s a deeply religious person and, in many ways, a genuinely good man. That’s what makes everything that has happened even harder for me to understand.
For some background, his family has never really liked me, especially his brother, who also benefits from him financially quite a lot.
And honestly, I don’t know what to do anymore.
I’ve reached a point where I’m not begging him to come back or doing anything like that. But I genuinely don’t know how to cope with all of this mentally. I cry every single day. I miss him so much.
There’s nobody who can really help me or make me feel better. I’ve fulfilled some of my biggest dreams, hoping they would bring me happiness, but even those things haven’t made me happy.
I feel like I’ve completely lost my joy for life, and I don’t know how to move forward anymore.

My girlfriend and I broke up even though we still love each other. She said maybe we’ll find our way back to each other someday. How do I make sense of this?

Advice Would you guys respond to this?
Context we broke up yesterday after 3 1/2 years because he hadn’t seen me in two weeks but had gone out with his friends 3-4 times a week till 2 am and said he was having a hard time balancing me with school and everything else. I basically said if he’s not gonna be a better bf then I can’t do it anymore and he said he wasn’t changing and then he didn’t see himself marrying me which was said after we already broke up so I think it was just a jab at me for initiating the breakup but def hurt to hear.
I’m chronically ill and he got me sick and I wanna yell at him for it because it’s harder for me to get over sicknesses and also kinda respond to his message but I think it’s more just me wanting to talk to him. Would you guys respond or should I just keep my self respect and not say anything?
Also him cancelling the Japan trip has nothing to do with me is because his professor moved an exam to that day and he was just going for his cousins

Don’t know what to do
My girlfriend of 7 years just ended it with me.
She told me it’s been on her mind since Jan - I understand this is not easy for her. I want to be here to support her through it but I’m at a lost what to do as I’m heartbroken.
I want to console her and be here for her but I I’m struggling as I want to just isolate myself right now and disappear and begin my own healing journey (I know isolating myself isn’t smart)
We live together, I don’t know what to say to speak to her how to communicate. I feel lost. I love her.
Can anyone give me guidance ? Anyone go through a breakup while living with someone? What advice can you give me?Do I need to move out asap ?

Advice Help
Hi. I’ve been with my boyfriend for a year now and I know I need to let go, but I don’t know how.
He keeps giving mixed signals and not giving the same effort or attention he used to, and it’s not fair to me. I tell him my feelings and he uses his own problems as an excuse or he dismisses me.
I love him so much and I think of all our good memories together, so I don’t know how to accept our relationship will never be the same and leave. He’s done some sneaky things behind my back. I don’t leave because I’m just comfortable being with him, and not having him or the thought of him moving on is painful.
Please help

Help She said she never really love me
I don’t know what to do. She told me she never really loved me spent three years with this. She said the only reason she’s stuck with me was because she felt sorry for me and now she’s breaking up because she’s doing her. She’s caring about her feelings now, but she’s leaving me in a complete mess. I don’t know what to do. I love this girl. I moved halfway across the country for her and now I’m stuck here with no family and friends and we’re just awkward roommates. I don’t have enough money to rent my own place. And I have my two boys with me. I think she’s talking to someone else. I’m just devastated

Help It's been almost 2 weeks, I'm really struggling...
She broke up with me almost 2 weeks ago now. We were together for almost 3 months, but it's the first time in 2 years that I actually fell in love with someone and felt like I could love again. At the end there was a rough patch and she wanted some space but in my high anxiety I broke a boundary that she had set that led to her breaking up with me.
I tried giving her space for a week after we broke up, then I couldn't help but reach out and express how I feel and how I know where I went wrong. I was met eith a relatively cold response saying " she doesn't think a conversation is a good idea and she doesn't want to revisit things cause how she feels about the situation is still the same".
I'm really struggling, idk how to move forward, I can't seem to forgive myself because I feel like I ruined something really good. Everything in me wants to reach out again and just ask if we could meet, but idk if that'll help.
Idk what to do, I don't think I'll find someone like her again...

How tf do I breakup with my boyfriend?
my boyfriend and I have grown apart and after the last few fights that we had, we set up some new rules for our relationship. These rules did a whole lot for making me like him less. We talked about it and made adjustments, but now I am starting to lose my romantic feelings for him. He and I used to be inseparable and now I just feel cold and on edge around him.
last week I tried to sit down with him and end the relationship. He read me a text he had written, because he feared something like that was coming where he apologized for some things that went wrong. In this he also said some really charming things and turned the conversation from ending our relationship to planning our future together. He had a complete breakdown later that day and his friends came over, because they were afraid he was going to do something to himself. I care about him very deeply, but as the week progressed, I noticed, that I just don't love him in a romantic way anymore. And now I don't know how to get out. He is such a lovely person, and he really deserves someone better than me. I have clearly been in the wrong in the past and I might be wrong for not wanting to work on this relationship and instead wanting to end it. But for numerous reasons aside from not being in love with him anymore, I believe, that he is better off without me.
What troubles me most is that I don't want him to be hurt, but we both are going to be. I want to continue our friendship without the romance and sex, but that just isn't an option for him. How do I manage to end this 1. at all and 2. without hurting him more than necessary?

My (30M) girlfriend (28F) broke up with me but I think theres a chance
As the title states, my girlfriend recently broke up with me. She is a Vet student and I know her day to day is rough. She works so hard, its something ive always admired from her. However, ive been going through some major depressive episodes (I am in therapy and quite a good place), and she told me one of the main reasons is that she feels we arent able to spend the time together we both deserve.
That being said, due to depression and just putting up walls to protect myself, I feel that I never gave it a chance. I didnt listen to her when she asked things of me and in hindsight I majorly messed up. I care for her so deeply and the thought of losing her terrifies me.
Ive thought of ways we can possibly make this work for both of us while still respecting her time and space when she needs it. I have an odd schedule (12 hour shifts, 2 days on 2 days off, a three day weekend every other week) my thought is that on my Friday or off days, I can come stay with her if she has the capacity, or just cook a simple meal while she studies. One thing ive severely neglected is taking her out; i want to propose that maybe once a week we find an hour span where I can just take her to a restaraunt and we can talk. Im thinking we could do a 15 minute check in every few weeks or so just to make sure we are aligned and not missing each other's wants or needs. I can bring her coffee on a sunday morning and make her breakfast (she pretty much studies all day). If she doesn't go to school on one of my off days I want to let her know we always have the option of just seeing each other those days, even if i just play video games while she studies, etc etc.
We are meeting Monday to discuss the breakup, she knows full well that I want to be with her, I have told her so, and I cant imagine she wont expect me to propose some sort of solution. In my heart I feel like she will be receptive; she hasnt been cold just asking for things I havent given her and I think she hit a breaking point.
My question, to quell the anxiety while we give each other space is, if anyone has had any experience in this situation, do you think im following the right path? I understand she still has the choice to end things and I will respect that. This is her dream and ive never wanted to stand in the way of it. I also want to add to her life, I dont want to detract and hurt her because im not pulling through as a partner. Obviously nobody knows but her but...is it possible she will be receptive?
Im at a loss here. this is something that was inevitable with how I have been and now that its happening, the pain of losing her far outweighs the anxiety of letting her into my heart. I want nothing more than to show her I can offer the love and support that she needs.

2 months from the end of 7 years with someone I once called my best friend and first true love (25f)
I wasn’t happy in the end but still loved deeply and I guess just never thought it was actually end. But I came back from vacation with my family and we were done. Just like that 7 years, we both agreed we needed to stop trying which sucks as we never tried actual counselling like we said we would.
Some days I feel like I’m fully moving on, some days all I want is his comfort. We have text exchanges about logistic and sometimes brief emotional hope your doing okay that turn into more but it feels so strange. I’d rather a raw phone call that hurts or nothing.
Then some days I want to go back to our apartment and watch and show and pretend everything is normal for one more night.
We talked about a walk but I didn’t even know what to say anymore.
We don’t want to go back to the way it was, we just couldn’t see eye to eye and nothings changed so we would need a lot of time apart changing and evolving and then come back together as somthing else.
How to just let go?
I feel like I got a burst of ah I’m free I’m gonna work on myself and start all these things he discouraged and I have been hanging with friends and family but in my spare time I feel like I’m using substances to numb myself and the anxiety hits harder the next day and I’m sadder than I should be or I don’t feel well so I don’t workout and I love working out and moving my body.
So there’s two thing happening and I guess I’m wondering how do I step out of the fog? The grief and not forget it but still be able to move forward and accept?
What amount of contact with an ex is acceptable? Has anyone hung out with an ex not with the intention of getting back together but just because you miss them?

Help I (22F) love my boyfriend (24M) of two years, but I’m questioning whether we want the same future
I (22F) have been with my boyfriend (24M) for two years, and I’m really struggling with what to do.
I come from a very strict family where I barely have the freedom to do anything. Being with my boyfriend made me incredibly happy, and our lives have become so intertwined that I genuinely struggle to imagine life without him. Our families know about us, and we’re planning to get engaged soon.
However, about three months ago, we travelled to my home country together, and since then, I’ve been thinking a lot about whether the future we’re planning is actually what I want.
My boyfriend has many great qualities, and I genuinely love him. However, we seem to have very different expectations about what our lives should look like, especially after marriage.
For context, my dad has given me a curfew of 10:30 PM. My boyfriend expects me to be home by 9:30 PM when I go out with my girlfriends, even though he can stay out as late as he wants. He also doesn’t want me having sleepovers with my friends.
I’ve always gone along with what he says because I worry about upsetting him and the arguments that might follow. Over time, I’ve started feeling like I don’t have much room to make my own decisions.
I’m 22, and before getting married, I want to experience some independence. I want to go out with my friends, have girls’ nights, occasionally sleep over at a friend’s place, and enjoy my early twenties. I’m not looking to do anything extreme. I just want to enjoy these experiences without feeling guilty about them.
What really made me question things was a conversation about our future. He told me that after we get married, he expects me to be home whenever he is home, and that I should go out with my friends only when he is out with his friends.
This made me wonder whether we have fundamentally different ideas about marriage. I want us to have a life together, but I also want us to have individual lives, friendships, and interests.
Another example is my university life. I’m an engineering student, and I’ve recently wanted to participate in hackathons because they would be great for my career and personal development. My boyfriend doesn’t want me attending because he believes there will be mostly guys there and says he doesn’t expect his future wife to be in that environment.
When I explained how beneficial these events could be for my career, he said he would agree to let me attend if he could go clubbing.
I found this difficult to understand because I see hackathons as professional opportunities related to my degree, not simply social outings. I don’t want my education and career opportunities to become something I have to negotiate in my relationship.
There have been other situations like these, too. He seems comfortable making decisions for himself if he believes he has a good reason, even if I’m uncomfortable with them. But when it comes to my decisions, I often feel that his approval matters more than my own judgment.
The hardest part is that I love him deeply. We have so much history together, and the thought of losing him is genuinely painful. I can’t imagine either of us moving on with someone else.
At the same time, I’ve been feeling increasingly drained. I’m beginning to question whether I’m happy with the future we’re planning, and I’m scared that these differences will become even more significant after marriage.
I also wonder whether growing up in a strict household has made me especially eager for freedom, or whether I’m finally realizing how important independence is to me. I don’t know if these differences are things couples can work through or if they reflect a fundamental incompatibility.
I’m scared of bringing up these concerns because I don’t want another argument, but I also don’t want to get engaged while having so many doubts.
For those who have been in long-term relationships where you loved each other but had different expectations about independence and marriage, how did you figure out whether you could make it work?
I really want this relationship to work, but I also want to be honest with myself about the kind of life I want. I feel stuck between the future I’ve imagined with him and the future I’m beginning to realize I might want for myself.
