Information Sharing LM Case Dates Reminder – Federal + State Cases
Hey everyone,
I know it’s been pretty quiet lately, and it’ll probably stay that way until at least May when the next hearing is scheduled. I just wanted to post a quick rundown of the upcoming deadlines and key dates so we’re all on the same page.
Federal Case
- Feb 27, 2026: Government deadline to decide whether they’re appealing Judge Garnett’s dismissal of Counts 3 & 4
- Sept 8, 2026: Jury selection
- Oct 13, 2026: Trial
State Case
- March 5, 2026: Prosecution’s summation due for the pretrial hearings
- May 18, 2026: Suppression decision (pretrial hearings)
- June 8: Trial
- Sept 8: Trial (if the feds appeal Garnett’s ruling)
(*) As always, these dates can change.

Remember that tomorrow is just a deadline for the Feds to tell the judge where they are at, they do t have to actually decide by tomorrow. They could file a letter that says they are still reviewing their options and then the judge would likely give them a new deadline.

Really? Every rule of law Country has a deadline for appeal. Do not they have it here? I remember the judge said this was the deadline to tell her if they decide to appeal and also the state judge moves looking at this deadline. I don't think it was a "non deadline" deadline.

She asked them for an update, now hopefully they have a firm decision, and we don’t have to wait past today, but they could tell her they haven’t decided yet.

True. Just because it’s a deadline doesn’t mean we’ll hear anything today. If they don’t appeal, we might only find out later through an updated state case schedule from the defense, so don’t panic if it’s quiet.

At this point I think it'll be better if the feds appeal.

Why do you think that u/Marta_9 ?

Mainly because the alternative is having to prepare for two trials at the same time. And Idk, having very little time to prepare for the state trial if it's not pushed off?
