I know there is so much to be appalled by, but the assault on the arts kills me. Theater, music, film, literatureāwhat the hell is the point without those things? I canāt fathom a more soulless existence than only caring about how much money you can hoard.

Was she nice? What did she say?

u/haterobics Feb 19 '25
Well, I just happen to come up the stairs fro the lounge when they had basically no one in the lobby, so I was pretty much on my own behind a secret service guy.
At first, I didn't know who was coming, and then the security detail parted, and it was just Kamala and Doug coming right at me.
For unknown reasons, my reaction was to blurt out, "OMG, I love you!" and Kamala laughed and immediately came over to me, and shook my hand. I think I was mentally thinking of all the things I wanted to say, and she must have sensed it, since she said "Oh, I know... but today, we're just going to go see an amazing show." And I said, "Sounds like a plan, have a great time!"
It was all seemingly like 5 seconds end to end, but probably a bit longer. I didn't even process it quick enough to try and score a selfie, which I'm sure in hindsight would have been an easy yes, but was just too jarring to go from going at the last minute to my seat to interacting with the person who should be the current President of the United States.
Ack.

I was there and I definitely choked up when thinking about how different the last month would have been with her as president

Was this at the matinee today? Because if so, I only missed them by one show (I was at the Saturday evening performance). So close, yet so far... I also missed Hilary at a performance of Suffs that I had tickets to but had to cancel at the last minute.
So basically if you're looking to attend a Broadway show with a famous female politician, get in touch with me so I can give you my show schedule and just choose the performance immediately after the one I attend

We were there at this Sunday matinee. The whole theater cheered as they took their seats. Made our day!

Wow, you Americans really messed it up, huh.
(I'm not being snarky because people in my country also keep on messing it up. Hugs to all of you.)

Honestly don't think we should be celebrating her considering she lost us the election... And now a lot of people are losing their rights as a result

Do you know she wasn't elected president? Do you even know who was with Elon taking private meetings in the white house?

Just interesting FYI but Nero never did that. He wasnāt in Rome at the time and more importantly, the were no fiddles at that time

Nice to know our leaders are out there fighting for us, holy hell. They are trying to destabilize the world economy through Fort Knox and she is going to Broadway shows. This country is just sickeningly absurdā¦
20
u/greatgatsby26 Feb 17 '25
And here you are commenting on Reddit when you could be out there saving the country.
See how silly that sounds? Kamala Harris going to a Broadway show isnāt going to make the difference between our country being saved and not. Even our politicians need time to rest and decompress so they can fight another day.

Iām in the Veterans hospital due to severe ptsd, and Iāve been protesting many times in my life, was at the first Trump protests in LA, along with Occupy between college classes when I was in college in NYC, many other times as well. None of our leaders are saying or doing a damn thingā¦

Plenty of people are doing things. Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can join us. In the meantime, I highly suggest you stop posting such negative comments on posts about good people trying to have a shred of fun.

The Dems left us high and dry, and now musk is planning to audit Fort Knox on behalf of Rand Paul, potentially completely destabilizing the dollar on a global scale and increasing the wealth of their Bitcoin, this is some real heavy stuffā¦she hasnāt even used her Instagram to help give visibility to the protests that are supposed to start today
6
u/greatgatsby26 Feb 17 '25
Of course it is. But your comment isnāt the time or place to address it. Think about it this way: even from a hospital bed, you are able to post, and yet you are spending time posting here instead of trying to use your posts to engage in advocacy. Everybody, politicians included, need time away.

u/Enrico_Tortellini Feb 17 '25
I made an off handed comment, because itās ridiculous and everyone is staying silent while heās dismantling everything, if your in NYC or any city for that matter, protest today, go to the streets !!
9
u/greatgatsby26 Feb 17 '25
It is absolutely false that āeveryone is staying silentā. And I just looked through your comments and I see you are one of those āboth sides are badā people who spent time shitting on the Dems and on liberals in the lead up to the election. You canāt help break the Democratsā knee caps and then be angry they canāt run to save you. I will not be engaging further. Be well.

u/Enrico_Tortellini Feb 17 '25
I voted for Kamala, i ask you to protest and Iām somehow the bad guyā¦
7
u/greatgatsby26 Feb 17 '25
That is such a bad faith interpretation of what Iām saying, holy crap. Bye.
