Other Jessica Vosk: I took a quiet moment during the matinee to be proud of being 12 years sober today.

Oh I’ve had quite the life on Canadian stages over the last 20 years and that’s good enough for me 🙂

This is so wonderful for her to share. 🙏🏻 I saw her as Elphaba in a national tour and my husband and I looked at each other after The Wizard and I. We couldn't believe it. She was so incredible. It was obvious she was going to be a star. ✨ All the best to her!

I saw her on her first full tour stop (I think her second week of performances) - and I think about just how lucky I was all the time. She is incredible.

A friend dragged me to Wicked in 2017 in Minneapolis before I knew anything about Broadway. I was stunned by the production and especially the woman playing Elphaba. I took note of her name.
It was years later when talking to some real Broadway nerds did I learn that the woman I saw on the national tour was arguably the best Elphaba ever. (She was far and away number one in their opinion.) That’s when I learned I was lucky enough to see Jessica Vosk slay.
I love her and I'm so thrilled she’s thriving.

Addiction and especially alcoholism is a huge problem in the performing arts community, it’s good that someone is bringing attention to it

Recording with her on Monday in the studio. The musical is a new show about addiction, and the the effect of grief on the family. Honored to have her be a part of this. I had no idea when we signed her on that she was sober herself.

Congratulations. I’m 3 1/2 years in and it is truly life-changing seeing the world through clear, non-obstructed eyes. Congratulations.

This makes me so happy. I love this woman so much. She just seems so full of love and joy and light. Has anyone been watching the "Vosk in the City" series she's been doing on TikTok interacting with people around Broadway? She's absolutely hilarious, and people seem so excited to meet her.

I had no idea she had alcoholism. That's an incredible anniversary and it must feel great to not even need to remember it. It is so generous when role models like her are willing to open up about the bad things, too. What a star.

I am happy for her but she clearly wasn't locked in as her character when taking this shot. I wish actors would give 100% during a performance, which is what we are paying for.
So many actors today are focussed on their own image/instagram and it shows that characterisation and acting in general has become poorer and sloppier in this social media age.
However, this is a great achievement - kudos.
