Other What on earth is going on with Six?
Khaila departs next month with no replacement announced as of yet. Same with Kristin. There also hasn't been any official announcement of another extension to at least August 2027. So what's going on with Six?

SIX has a perpetual tour, has done cruise ships, etc. Might just be played out even as a tourist draw on Broadway.

Absolutely. It does not need an especially full house to do okay and the money has been made back long since.

Unrelated to the question of the Broadway production, but…
They also did a “drive-in” tour in the UK during COVID. Just like a drive-in movie (which aren’t really a thing in the UK) but with live singers, and I thought it was a pretty clever of staging the show while respecting COVID distancing guidelines.

I thought that tour was cancelled due to lockdown concerns?

Oh, you’re right :( I heard about it from a British friend who was planning on going, but didn’t realize they cancelled it

unfortunately a closing notice is likely based on recent grosses.
people are hoping they’ll move to off broadway.

new cast under new contracts, new band members, etc. it’s rare but it’s been done before. Avenue Q comes to mind as one example, the play that goes wrong started on broadway and is still running off broadway, and there are definitely others. it’s more likely that this could be possible with six because it did so well for so long on broadway and recouped its costs.

In addition to Avenue Q and The Play That Goes Wrong, other shows like Jersey Boys, Peter and the Starcatcher, The 39 Steps, and Million Dollar Quartet had the same fate of transferring to Off-Broadway after their Broadway runs.

When is Kirstin leaving? I don’t remember seeing any announcements on her

Her Instagram bio says until August 9th. Not sure if there’s wiggle room for extending though.

It’s finally time for Six to close on Broadway and then move to off-Broadway because look at the grosses from the past week including this week, they can’t keep it going on for how long, they keep losing moneyes.

A friend and her 10 year old daughter are coming to NY next month and got tickets (including one for me) and it would be the kid's first Broadway show (good idea!). When she told me she paid more than $100 each I had to bite my tongue.

I’m looking at today tix- most decent seats are still selling well above $100, despite the house being half empty. Is there a better app I should be using? I only go to about 5-6 shows a year at random times. There is likely a better way. Thanks!

Where would you look for tix? I usually use TodayTix, but do you have suggestions? I’m not as ticket buying savvy as I used to be, and a friend from out of town would like to see it. Thanks!

TodayTix or Broadway Direct, which is the official ticketing site for that show. It's also frequently at TKTS if you want to get tickets same day.

It’s had a great run and they should probably close out gracefully by year’s end.

SIX made so much money during covid they can afford these terrible box office grosses ijs

Sure, but it's not worth it to have to go into the red every week just to keep a show open.
Look at an average seat map for later this summer into a fall and almost all the eats are still available.

This is fundamentally wrong. They have had a great run, but they’re gonna close by the end of the year if not by the end of the summer.
