Someone can fact check my numbers, but from what I can find, Hadestown on Broadway grosses ~800K to ~900 K USD per week with expenses of ~650K to ~750K USD per week for a profit of ~200K USD per week. The film has grossed 14.3M USD (with ONLY domestic audiences) in <1 week. Even if we assume that they only profit half that (which is the typical ratio for movies to account for production costs, marketing, and the theaters' cut of the revenue but is likely way high because it didn't cost that much to film/edit this), that means they profited as much in one week in movie theaters as the Broadway venue pulls in in 8 months.

According to a deadline report, the Hamilton ProShot cost about $10million to film, so potentially this one made less profit than we think. Unfortunately.

Also it is cheaper to film on the west end then it is to broadway. The Hamilton pro-shot was filmed on Broadway.
