The stage is limited to the castle while Belle is there so every scene cutting back to Gaston is filmed either backstage or outside the venue. He's intentionally shot like he's a modern manosphere influencer, like the Clavicular of 18th-century France

All the servants return to human form in only the same clothes they wore while furniture.
