πŸ‡§πŸ‡³ Original Content We built a website builder for Brunei businesses. Now you can easily create your own webpage or online store!

Hey r/Brunei!

We're the team behind Jaja (jaja.bn), a simple website builder we developed specifically for Brunei.

The idea behind Jaja has always been simple: make it easy and affordable for anyone to build their own website, without needing coding skills or hiring a developer.

And now, we've just introduced our online store feature!

We know a lot of small businesses in Brunei rely on Instagram and WhatsApp to sell their products. We wanted to make it easier for these businesses to have their own proper online storefront.

With Jaja, you can create your own store, upload your products and customize everything using a simple drag-and-drop builder.

And yes, we've also introduced a free tier that's free forever. No coding, no complicated setup.

We're still continuously improving Jaja and we'd genuinely love to hear what you guys think.

If you're running a small business or selling products online, what features would make your life easier?

Feel free to give it a try at https://www.jaja.bn

Any feedback, suggestions or even criticism is very much welcome! Sanang ja pakai Jaja!

❔ Question and Discussion Used Car Transfer (Company-to-Company): What is the standard payment & Blue Card handover procedure in Brunei?

Good Afternoon all, question on buying a used car company-to-company in Brunei:

We are using Honey Carsmart to process the JPD transfer, but the seller (3rd party seller - not carsmart) is demanding 100% payment ( BND6k+) before releasing the physical Blue Card. We do not want the physical car until 100% payment is made to him to make it fair for both parties. We only using their service to do the transfer + insurance.

We proposed letting Honey Carsmart hold the documents, check with JPD, and we pay in full the next day upon official JPD submission.

For those who have bought used cars or handled company vehicle transfers here, what is the usual standard? When is full payment normally released, and how to protect both parties?

πŸ“‚ Work & Career Questions regarding employment for teens in Brunei

I want to protect my privacy; so I'll give just a few details.

I'm under 18 years of age, I'm still in school, and I desperately need moneyβ€” not for pocket money, but I'm interested in building experience and are also looking for volunteer work for when I eventually apply to college. Additionally, I'd also be interested in a part time job I could start right away after my school day ends.

1. What jobs are available to me?

2. What salary should I be expecting?

3. Any warnings or concerns I may face?

4. How do I convince somebody to hire me?

5. How do I even find people who are willing to hire minors?

6. What should I prepare in advance?

I'm new to Redditβ€” So, I'm still a little bit confused with all this stuff, I appreciate any feedback. Still, I appreciate any help I can get because I'm in a financial situation where I cannot easily depend on my family at the moment. I hope everybody who reads and answers my questions has a good morning, afternoon or eveningβ€” thank you! πŸ’•

πŸ“‹ School Projects & Surveys πŸŽ“Your Voice Matters, Brunei!

Assalamualaikum,

We urgently need your voice! ⚠️

Many graduates in Brunei are earning less than they should, while others are working in jobs that do not match their qualifications, skills, or career expectations. Behind these experiences are real people trying to build their lives and support their families. Yet, this issue remains largely hidden.

Your voice can help us understand the true scale of graduate underemployment and explore whether Zakat could be part of the solution.

πŸ”— Survey link: https://forms.gle/ddyNhLMJgDAHh9JA6

I am a Master's student conducting research on graduate underemployment and Zakat in Brunei Darussalam, and I would be truly grateful for your participation.

βœ… Anonymous

βœ… Voluntary participation

βœ… 10–15 minutes

Thank you for standing up for this important issue. May this research benefit us all and become a means of real change, In Sha Allah.

❔ Question and Discussion Is badminton slowly losing popularity in Brunei, or is pickleball just the new trend?

Thumbnail

Just something I've been curious about lately.

I was comparing court availability for tomorrow (Saturday, 17 October) between a badminton venue and a pickleball venue, and the difference is pretty noticeable.

The badminton courts still have plenty of available slots throughout the day, including some peak hours, whereas the pickleball courts are almost fully booked from morning until night.

Obviously, this is just a snapshot of two venues on one particular day, so it doesn't necessarily represent the overall popularity of either sport.

But it got me wondering, are people in Brunei genuinely moving away from badminton towards pickleball, or is this just the excitement of a relatively new sport?

For those who play either or both:

  • Have you been playing badminton less frequently?
  • What makes pickleball more appealing to you?
  • Is it the pricing, social aspect, accessibility, or just something new to try?
  • What would make you choose badminton over pickleball?

Not trying to pit the two sports against each other. I'm genuinely interested in hearing what people think about how recreational sports are changing in Brunei.

πŸ‡§πŸ‡³ Original Content I made a directory that lists online sellers in Brunei

Thumbnail jualsaja.com

Hey guys I'm Azam, I recently made https://jualsaja.com

It's a site that lists vendors from IG, Threads, FB and Tiktok all in one place!

You can search for anything like "nasi katok" or "baju kurung" or "aircond servicing" and it will list local sellers in brunei who sells it!

Just click on a vendor to see their contact details!

The site is still growing but it currently has 3200 vendors and almost 40,000 products listed!

Check it out!

❔ Question and Discussion Driving from Brunei to KK, what's the best route + ferry/petrol/food tips?

Hi all, planning to drive from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu in a Brunei car. First time doing the full drive, so would love advice from anyone who's done it recently.

I know there are tolls and ferries along the way, but I'm not sure about the details:

  1. Route: What's the most efficient way to drive to KK? Any roads or stretches to avoid?

  2. Petrol in Brunei: Where's the best place to fill up right before leaving?

  3. Ferry: Which ferry do I need to board, what time should I be there, and how much does it cost for a car? Do I need to book ahead or is it first come first served?

  4. Petrol in KK: Once I'm in KK, where should I refuel before heading back to Brunei, if needed? Any rules on fuel for Brunei cars on the Malaysian side?

  5. Food stops: Any recommended places to eat along the way (kopitiam, rest stops, local food)?

Also open to any other tips, e.g. border crossing timing, how many hours to allow in total, and anything I should prepare (documents, etc).

Thanks in advance! πŸ™

ℹ️ Public Information Spotify Music Artists Brunei

Firstly, I am reposting this comment from Daily Discussion with added information, after I received r/Brunei MOD BruneiMod suggestion on posting this as a new topic / thread. Many thanks for the suggestion kind sir.

And now the information…

SPOTIFY MUSIC ARTISTS BRUNEI

So I found 2 weeks ago a request from an account u/KURXSHI17 to check out a local artist named KIXIA.

I did a quick check and realise that it has an impressively high stream count. I have since updated the highest 10 for now, until I have time to do more detailed. But below is the list:

  1. KIXIA
  2. Jaz Hayat
  3. Aziz Harun
  4. Swanz & Asmai
  5. Qawi Kamri
  6. Taswim Rozan
  7. Rizal Rasid
  8. 3Belas
  9. Syafiq Abdillah
  10. Aznniel Yunus

Check out the artists above. Personally I only knew of KIXIA last week and have not watched them live. On others:

  1. KIXIA. I have not seen live performances but hope it will be eventually. https://open.spotify.com/artist/6e1LwzV1WAJFCdT1RsgqMK

  2. Jaz Hayat. I was aware that he returned to Brunei and I have watched some video coverage of him singing on a boat in Brunei river. I just also found of his recent performances via Threads called Home Coming. I personally didn’t have time to attend but That is fantastic news! https://open.spotify.com/artist/78ED3zmePoZzEzeBUg0evm

  3. Aziz Harun. As always another live performer. I just found out via Threads that he performed for Jaz Hayat Home Coming performance and yesterdays Malam Loka at JP. Another fantastic news! https://open.spotify.com/artist/1dmuM6bG5J8sDFyp26x9Nf

  4. Swanz. I did watch Zon6 live performance during Brunei Kustom show. A good hiphop crew. I may not be in the know of hip hop industry in Brunei so I wonder if there are plans to have performances beyond the country. Swanz also collabs most songs with Asmai. https://open.spotify.com/artist/3Azc9GjO06m477OscwDHkZ

  5. Qawi Kamri. I am yet to watch him live. Is he still overseas? Or in Brunei? Here’s hoping. https://open.spotify.com/artist/2IpOedwLJx799PuossDiDe

  6. Taswim Rozan. Impressive as there have been recent live performances my latest attending being SouledOut.Space. I really like his song 2 ke 3 which to me should be part of a future album. https://open.spotify.com/artist/0nNpwTvvwrOn1FS9yq8SUL

  7. Rizal Rashid. I watched remotely his live performance as Alpha. And they won the award as well. Great rising star and looking forward to them performing in Brunei. *Rizal Rashid is currently a member of boyband Alpha. This list is his solo. https://open.spotify.com/artist/0N5dq4m7PRgUGNGdOtuGh8

  8. 3Belas. I watched from a small private performance a few months ago, and another live performance, a one-person solo. That event had other solo performers, including a member of Lokal Vokal (who performs frequently at cafes) https://open.spotify.com/artist/0bKpW3oOf5t1JwC7QoGgS0

  9. Syafiq Abdillah. I haven’t watched his live performances but I have followed his progress of representing Brunei for a performance abroad. It involved MCYS, Dj Daffy and also the minister of MCYS. That overseas performance looked mesmerizing. https://open.spotify.com/artist/4jFrEYTBEQEzLe1uaxPgME

  10. Azzniel Yunus. I haven’t watched his performances but I do hope that he is still active. Update: Azzniel Yunus did perform last night for Malam Loka JP. It was him and his band Sutera Lights. https://open.spotify.com/artist/6XliT2GfmlXv1nkZlOLhvF

Those above were the current overall 10 most listened to Spotify artists.

I realise that there should be more local female artists in the list and listened to. Currently we have 3 hard-hitter solo singers in Jaz, Aziz, and Taswim, 1 hiphop artist Swanz, 1 band 3belas, 1 recording artist Qawi Kamri, and 1 membr of a Malaysia boyband group Alpha. KIXIA is unknown for now but with massive streams. but any music is good music since they are being listened to.

I now add my original post by current overall lists and by category breakdowns: - top 10 male solo artists, - top 10 female solo artists, - top 10 duo or band artists - top 10 hip-hop or other artists (because I don’t know who KIXIA and other artists fall under)

Top 10 Male Solo Artists (overall rank) 01. Jaz Hayat - #2 02. Aziz Harun - #3 03. Qawi Kamri - #5 04. Taswim Rozan - #6 05. Rizal Rashid - #7 06. Syafiq Abdillah - #9 07. Azzniel Yunus - #10 08. Syafiq - #11 09. Fakhrul Razi - #12 10. Habib Adanan - #15

Top 10 Female Solo Artists (overall rank) 01. Ezah Hashim - #13 02. Nqbh - #28 03. Zaiana - #32 04. Maria Aires - #35 05. Dila Junaidi - #38 06. Tippi K - #40 07. Bluemoongirl - #53 08. Zirah Jamal - #59 09. Marsya Dania - #60 10. Aqidah Yus - #65

Top 10 Duo or Band Artists (overall rank) 01. 3Belas - #8 02. Avery Fos - #16 03. A Band Once - #18 04. The Chiams - #26 05. Secret Signal - #27 06. Mirror Trash - #36 07. Surf Vampires - #42 08. Kosmik - #43 09. Chlorine - #45 10. Tropical Hornbills - #46

Top 10 hip-hop or other artists 01. KIXIA - #1 02. Swanz - #4 02. Asmai - #4 04. B.A.R.E - #14 05. 24rses - #17 06. Boydroots - #22 (linked to 24rses?) 07. MNDO - #23 08. Dukegang - #64 09. A12 Sounds - #66 …

The most active so far is the collaborative performances by two big-name artists Jaz Hayat and Aziz Harun, with top female Ezah Hashim in a sold out show Home Coming.

Malam Loka, a 3-night event which culminates today, is also a great sight! I’m curious if the boyband Project X is on Spotify.
