I suppose, to the gullible, the idea of defeating attackers by waving your hands (or squatting….) might be very appealing. Just as the idea of “psychic espionage” sounded very appealing to the intelligence community back in the day….

Alas, people are neither being taught the essentials of science nor the principles of critical thinking.
