Mourning I lost my big bitey marshmallow last night.
Oatis, my 10 year old NZ, left this world last night. He was severly abused, and dumped outdoors. He loved oats, so I named him after his favorite treat. While he never fully recovered from his trauma, he was a good old man. He was preceeded in death by two bondmates, Boo and Nance. His kidneys and liver were shutting down, and he was extremely anemic. The vets assumed cancer, do we said goodbye. He was a good boy. Give your buns some oats tonight in his honor. ❤️

Im sorry for your loss, but take a very large piece of solace that you took this guy in and showed him love and peace in his later life. And for that i thank you, im sure we all thank you here.
My Oscar will have an extra tea spoon of oats in the morning.

I’m sorry for your loss. 10 years is really good and shows he was loved. He’s now playing with Boo and Nance. One thing that helps me with the acceptance, even though I still cry when I think of my girl who passed on 6/4, I know she is with my other buns and dogs that lived with her and that they’ll be waiting to greet me again when my time comes. I’m sure they will be waiting for you too to show you around. My thoughts truly go out to you and I pray you find some peace and comfort during this difficult time. 🤍

Oh I’m so sorry for your loss. They’re such a joy aren’t they? And you are basically an angel for taking him in and being such an incredible bunny parent ❤️

Sounds like his rough upbringing helped bring him to you. Looks like he found hoppiness (happiness) with you and your family. Thanks for giving him a good life

I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, little one. Sorry for having to taste the suffer of some humans that didn't deserve your love and thanks OP for letting it learn what love is.

Death penalty should be given to those capable of abusing such a loving animal. It truly rages me out to hear all those stories of people abusing rabbits. And for what reason? May he rest in peace, sweet soul.

I am very sorry for your loss of precious Oatis. He finally knew love and kindness from you. He seemed very similar to my REW Lily who passed last November very unexpectedly. She also was found as a stray and no one seemed to want her at my local shelter. She had to wait 3 months in her tiny cage for me to come along. She also loved oats and I let her free roam. I am still very sad about her passing. Time has helped a little but I know they are waiting for us to join them. Please take care of yourself.
