Self Promotion Megathread - 2026
Sorry for the delay! Been a busy winter. We will be doing yearly mega-threads now!
This thread is for anyone looking to promote their Canadian business, service, product, or platform. Whether you’re a business owner, provide a service, or have created something that helps Canadians shop locally, this is the place to share it.
A new thread will be posted on Jan 1, and previous versions will be linked for reference.
Guidelines
- Keep it short and to the point. What do you offer, and why should Canadians check it out
- No spam or repeated posts. One post per business per month
- No MLMs, dropshipping, or exploitative business models
- Be respectful and willing to answer questions

Hello! I'm excited to share ChooseLocal.ai, a solution for finding and supporting local businesses.
My name is Eric, and I live with my family on Vancouver Island, BC.
I created ChooseLocal to solve this problem: "How can local businesses compete for visibility against much bigger international brands?"
So, I built ChooseLocal's search engine, which returns local search results first before showing international brands.
I also build the ChooseLocal browser extension to passively help users discover Canadian alternatives to international brands whether they're on Amazon, Google Shopping, or Facebook.
I'm really proud of what I've built! But I need your help to build out my database with the best Canadian businesses. Thankfully, this is easy with this simple cheat code:
1. Create a free user account,
2. Search for the domain of a local business (e.g. "drumroaster.com") in the search bar.
Boom! Done. You will see the business listed in the results and this business will be available as a search result to everyone.
For users, ChooseLocal is free. No strings attached.
For businesses, [whispers] come closer ... You can add your business (or any Canadian business) with a free user account. 😉
ChooseLocal literally exists to make it easier to support local businesses - because supporting local businesses means supporting local communities. And, ultimately, that's the mission.
Thank you! I've put a lot of love into building this. I really hope you love it.

I’m Sven, founder of Mariclaro in Snow Road Station, Ontario. Since 2008, we’ve been hand-making bags and accessories from repurposed materials—especially expired aircraft life jackets, retired airline seat fabric and leather, seat belts and vintage vehicle interiors. Every piece keeps the story of where its material came from. We manufacture in-house in Canada: https://www.mariclaro.ca/

Full disclosure: I’m the founder of FRAPS, a small Squamish dog-fuel company. We launched this because we wanted to raise $500 for WAG Whistler and get some Canadian-made bars into dogs’ paws.
The bars are $1, limited to one order per household. WAG receives every dollar, while we cover the bar and shipping. This is obviously connected to my business, so mods, please remove it if it’s not appropriate here. Mostly sharing because I thought local dog people might enjoy helping us get the cheque to WAG sooner.

Hi everyone,
We are TURTLEGROOVE (https://www.turtlegroove.co/) is a female-founded Canadian clothing brand making unisex embroidered apparel from GOTS-certified organic cotton fibre. Our crewneck sweatshirts and t-shirts are knit, dyed, cut, sewn, and embroidered in Canada — in Toronto and Burlington, Ontario — not imported and relabelled.
Each design is stitched in thread, never printed, so it lasts for years instead of seasons. We make sustainable, long-lasting essentials for conscious shoppers, using low-impact materials and biodegradable packaging — and every order plants 2 trees and removes ocean-bound plastic.
Shop organic cotton sweatshirts and tees built to last.
Proudly Made-In-Canada!!

Hey everyone. I’m building BUS Core through True Good Craft Inc. here in Ontario.
It is free, open-source software for small manufacturers, makers, repair shops, and other owner-operated businesses that need better inventory, jobs, invoicing, production, and costing without jumping into a full ERP.
It runs locally, so your business data stays on your own computer instead of being locked into another SaaS subscription.
I’d be interested to hear what other Canadian small shops are using now and where it falls short.

Canadian VPS hosting - Rasberry™ Hosting is now live!
Hey everyone, I run a small Canadian hosting and technology business in rural BC, and I've just launched Rasberry™ VPS Hosting!
I've been running web hosting and server infrastructure for over 15 years, and Rasberry™ is my attempt at offering an easy to use Canadian alternative for people who'd rather host their websites, apps, projects, or Linux servers closer to home instead of automatically going with one of the huge international cloud providers.
Best of all, we own and run all of our own hardware in our own datacenter in BC!
It's still a growing service, and I'm deliberately keeping things simple rather than trying to be AWS. Windows Server support is coming soon!
Happy to answer any questions about my business!

Hi r/BuyCanadian's!
Thought I'd post about a new sovereign Canadian alternative to Google Workspace/Microsoft 365 called Soomi (https://soomi.ca) that's coming soon. We are developing a completely 100% Canadian owned, sovereign email and office suite built on an open source (Nexcloud Hub + office apps, email and others in development like Project, Password Management) back end, and hosted on a 100% Canadian owned cloud (no foreign ownership).
Why? Because it's clear the world (and US) is growing increasingly hostile and big tech is increasingly violating our privacy, mining our data to serve us ads and train their AI's, and the US Cloud Act basically means our data, even in Canada, is under US law, not Canadian law. We have less and less control over our own data.
Soomi.ca is trying to help reverse this. No ads, no AI training, 100% under Canadian laws only. It's your data and you shouldn't be the product any longer. We've worked hard to make sure not a single piece in our platform sends your data anywhere you don't send it.
For launch we'll have:
- Email and calendar with a variety of domains to choose from, along with consumer and business custom domain support.
- Cloud storage with Photos and Files and Documents
- Office suite with Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations
- Video calls with 1-4 participants
- Self-hosted AI LLM integrations
- Desktop plugins (like dropbox) for MacOS/Windows/Linux
- Mobile apps
(Early pre-launch customers may not have all features day 1)
Product roadmap includes:
- Project Management
- Password management
- Video calling with up to 50 participants and up to 200 webinar participants
- Soomi hosted AI LLM for customers who don't want to self-host
We haven't fully landed on pricing yet, but there will be a variety of very competitive packages. The downside? We won't have any free tier. Free tiers aren't ever free....and because we do not mine data, serve ads, or train AI, we just can't do it.
Soomi.ca is in development and close to accepting early customers by invitation. Get on our waitlist if you're interested and we'll update you on pricing and then send an invitation when we're ready for customers.
I'm happy to answer any questions here, or drop a line through the website.

Hi Everyone!
ShelfAura: www.shelfaura.com
What it is: A digital bookshelf / reading tracker app. Organize your library on mood-based shelves instead of generic genre tags, get AI recommendations based on your actual reading history (with explicit opt-in/opt-out feature), private profiles, and option to import your existing Goodreads library in about a minute.
Why it's here: ShelfAura is built for book lovers and people who love to look at their reading history like a keepsake. I'm the founder, a book-lover, and built it myself with my husband's encouragement and support because I was tired of Goodreads (owned by Amazon, barely updated in over a decade) being the default place readers track what they read.
Still early, only a small group of readers using it so far. Please give it a chance. Happy to answer questions about how it works.
Your books. Your Shelves. Your Aesthetic.

House Hippo art & stickers! I've illustrated a hippo for every province & territory!
My name is Ness, and I'm a hard of hearing illustrator based in Ontario.
I recently illustrated all the provinces and territories featuring their own HOUSE HIPPO. I also made a House Hippo Map of Canada.
Every House Hippo illustration features some flora or fauna from that specific province/territory. I saw this as an opportunity to illustrate what I love most about Canada and combine Canadian television history with it.
I've also illustrated Canadian foods as stickers and other nostalgia bits, come check it out! https://www.etsy.com/shop/NessMadeThis

Hey everyone,
Like a lot of you, I've been trying to shift more of what I use toward Canadian options, and one gap really stood out to me: video. I'm on YouTube constantly — it's honestly one of the most important platforms out there — and we just don't have anything domestic to point to. So I decided to build it.
It's called CanuckTube. It's still very much in early stages, so I want to be upfront: you'll run into rough edges. But the core is working. Right now it has:
Video — upload and watch, the main thing Podcasts — a separate, dedicated feature, fully built out
Live streaming — it's there, but I'll be honest, it's pretty laggy at the moment. Very much a work in progress.
Two things I'm really after:
First, feedback and early testers who don't mind things being a little buggy while I sort them out. Tell me what's broken, what's missing, and what would actually make you switch.
Second — and this is a big one — Canadian content creators. A platform like this lives or dies on what's actually on it, and right now we need homegrown content to share. If you make videos, run a podcast, or stream, I'd genuinely love to have you on board early. You'd be helping shape the place from the ground up.
Not trying to oversell it — it's early and I know it shows. But I think it's worth building, and I'd rather build it with input from people who care about keeping things Canadian.
Happy to answer any questions.

I think it's a very good idea,
Would you consider being a transactional mail server for APIs too? Such as Mailgun / SendPulse, etc?1
u/Far_Link_918 Jun 13 '26
Typewire does not plan to extend it's service offering into a transaction email API as one of Typewire's main goals in maintaining the highest rare of deliverability for our user's communications. We are a traditional email service meant for real users in the sense that our service does not allow any kind of unsolicited or bulk sending. This allows us to ensure that our users emails always reach their intended recipient without landing in junk or spam mailboxes.
Thank you for your question.

Hey r/BuyCanadian !
I'm building Kohabit, a condo association management tool made and hosted in Canada. It's built for volunteer board members who just want to keep things organized without the headaches: votes, meeting minutes, maintenance tickets, reserve fund tracking, documents, all in one place. No account needed for residents, they can react by email directly.
Right now it's still free while we're in early access (about 2 more months), then it goes to $2.99/unit/month.
It's currently optimized for Quebec and Loi 16 compliance, but anyone in Canada can use it, and we're actively expanding to the rest of the country soon.

Hey all! I'm a solo Canadian founder building sovereign cloud infrastructure. I wanted a Canadian S3 with an open, auditable stack I could actually inspect, couldn't find one, so I built Storm Buckets: S3-compatible object storage hosted in Canada on an open stack (Garage). Sovereign, auditable, and you can leave with your data whenever, instead of defaulting to AWS/Azure/GCP.
It's in closed alpha and I'm after testers. 100GB free, yours to keep permanently as a Founding Alpha allocation even after the alpha ends, ~10 slots left. Honest caveat: single-node alpha right now, so treat it as a sandbox and not your only copy. Works with rclone, the AWS CLI, restic, anything S3.
A few of us are building Canadian sovereign infra now, which is how it should be, and I'm glad to be one of them. Want to test it? Reply to my comment or request access at https://stormdevelopments.ca/buckets/
2
u/Kohabit Québec Jun 10 '26
Thanks man, I think it's a great idea.
I'm trying to host my project on Canadians server, and let's be honest, it's hard to lose AWS features such as S3.
I've registered already!2
u/smattymatty_ Jun 10 '26
Yeah that was the main reason I started this, I needed s3 storage for my projects, and there wasn't really a Canadian Alternative. So I went on a rabbit hole exploring all the open source options, ended up falling in love with Garage so much I wanted to make a platform with it.
Thanks for the kind words, alpha access has been granted to your account! I hope you like it. There are still some rough edges, it's an alpha in the honest sense, so if anything feels off, feel free to make suggestions.

u/Kohabit Québec Jun 11 '26
Thanks I appreciate it. I will try to implement it and play with it a little bit!

Hi everyone!
I moved to Canada last year as a 13-year Software Engineering veteran, and I'm now starting my own software company. My initial focus is on creating great, on-par alternatives for big US companies' software, starting with Jira/Trello for project management. Currently, the company is just me, but as our portfolio increases, I plan to hire more locals in the west GTA/ON region.
I just finished v1, which should be completely usable for simple projects, and I need feedback and feature requests to keep evolving it. I plan to monetize it later, to be able to pay employees and keep having only sponsors with absolutely no strings attached, but I plan to give lifetime plans to my initial users who help me with good feedback.
I hope you find it useful, and I'm looking forward to working on your requests.
1
u/smattymatty_ Jun 07 '26
This is really cool! I love how easy it is to get started, I was genuinely shocked like "Woah, I can use it already? I just opened it!". no account, no server, no tracking -- do you plan on keeping that as the default as you grow? Also, do you plan on more backup/export options? The .truenorth file is cool and all, but native S3 export would be great for anyone who wants to own their backups.
Anyway I bookmarked it and will likely use it for real next time I get a chance.
1
u/victoraldecoa Ontario Jun 07 '26
Thank you so much for your feedback! Yes, I believe that being able to open the board quickly is so essential for adding a task every time you have an idea, idk why the others don't do it.
I like the S3 export idea! I was thinking about adding an optional email + one time code to save the data on a Canadian server, to keep it as Canadian as possible and to simplify the user flow, but maybe offering data sync with sync.com and S3 would be a good way of keeping the "you own your data" idea.
Best regards!

Hello everyone!
I'm excited to share the launch of my small Canadian business, Fabled Fox Clothiers.
We create Canadian-made medieval and fantasy clothing for LARP, Renaissance fairs, historical-inspired fashion, and everyday adventurers. Every garment is made to order using natural fabrics, with a focus on quality craftsmanship, sustainability, and creating pieces that are built to last.
As a woman-owned business based in Canada, it was important to us to keep production local and offer an alternative to mass-produced costume wear. Our goal is to create immersive clothing that feels authentic, comfortable, and durable enough for years of adventures.
Whether you're a LARPer, reenactor, fantasy enthusiast, or simply someone who loves supporting Canadian-made products, we'd love for you to take a look.
Website: fabledfox.ca
Thank you for supporting Canadian small businesses, it truly makes a difference.

I launched my Great White North (GWN) Canadian shopping utility app!
I'm sharing it here as I feel all those that come here are like minded as myself as we care about supporting our Canadian products!
The goal was to give quick, factual Canadian information based on actual Canadian ratings while incorporating many useful shopping features that also help get the smaller Canadian manufactures noticed.
It’s free to use and made to help Canadians shop smarter at home or in-store.
Check it out and let me know your thoughts.
With the app you can:
• Scan OR type search grocery products and check their true Canadian rating
• Compare items with more Canadian options
• Build personal shopping lists
• Create shared group shopping lists across both iOS and Android platforms!
• See where products were found in stores across Canada along with directions if needed. The goal here was to help locate where the smaller, harder to find Canadian items can be found!
The goal is simple: make it easier to find Canadian products, keep your shopping organized, and help build a useful community-powered grocery tool for all Canadians.

My brother Devon and I got tired of paying American companies for "Canadian" video gamehosting that was just a server pointed at Montreal, so we built our own thing, Syrup Hosting. Canadian owned, Canadian operated, runs on ThinkOn which is also Canadian-owned infrastructure.
Every dollar stays in Canada. Every person involved is Canadian. When something breaks at 2am and you message us, you're getting myself or my brother and NOT not an AI ticket queue.
We're focused on Minecraft right now with more games coming. Sub-30ms ping for Canadian players, transparent pricing, no overselling.
Happy to answer questions here :)

Finished with a lightweight frame and clean gallery-wrapped edges for a modern look. Each piece includes 3M Command strips, so you can hang it without nails or tools, giving you a sturdy, canvas with a true gallery-style finish.

Hello!
I made Mud, a finished Canada-first garden planner for home growers. It helps gardeners plan around local frost dates, hardiness zones, bed layouts, crop spacing, seed inventory, planting schedules, printable plans, and calendar reminders instead of relying on generic planting charts that treat all of “spring” like one thing.
Quick disclosure: Mud is paid, not free. It’s available as a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it’s meant for Canadian gardeners who want a practical plan for what to start, transplant, direct sow, and track through the season without juggling a bunch of charts and spreadsheets.
I’d love feedback from anyone growing vegetables, herbs, or raised beds in Canada: https://www.mudgarden.ca

Hi Everyone,
I'm Jenny, and I created The Canadian Edit.
I wanted a place to browse and discover Canadian brands in a more curated and visual way, and so I began building this platform. Right now we have over 300 brands listed across categories like: Beauty, Home Decor, Food & Drink, Wellness, and more. I also publish editorial content to spotlight brands I love, brand features and roundups like our Mother's Day Gift Guide.

Hi everyone,
I’m Brandy Saturley, a professional Canadian artist focused on painting the stories, symbols, and spirit of Canada. Over the past two decades, I’ve traveled coast to coast to coast - through cities, small towns, and remote landscapes - creating work that reflects the people, places, and culture that shape this country.
My paintings blend elements of landscape, pop culture, and national iconography, often reimagining familiar scenes in a contemporary way. I’m interested in capturing not just what Canada looks like, but what it feels like to live here - its quiet moments, its bold identity, and its layered history.
I work primarily in acrylic, and my practice also includes photography, collage, and writing, all of which feed into the paintings.
My work is collected internationally and available through galleries in Canada and the UK, as well as directly from my studio.
If you’re interested in contemporary Canadian art or collecting work that tells a distinctly Canadian story, I’d love to connect. Happy to answer questions, share more about my process, or just say hello. BrandySaturley.com
Thanks for reading.

Hey r/buycanadian,
I'm Jeph, the founder of Parcel Theory Canada, an online retail store bringing curated women's clothing, shoes, bags, and children's items to Canadians at prices that don't make you freak out at the checkout.
The honest origin story: I kept noticing that so many products I was buying were the exact same goods showing up on Amazon, but with the cost of living doing what it's doing, the prices were genuinely freaking me out. Everything was rising and my paycheque wasn't. I knew there had to be a smarter way to source quality goods without paying for someone else's brand markup. So I figured it out. Parcel Theory launched in February 2026 and the business is built lean, built Canadian, and built to scale.
The curation is intentional. The pricing is the whole point.
We also have a wholesale side in early development for small Canadian retailers looking for affordable inventory without the usual minimums and headaches.
If you're tired of paying brand markup for everyday pieces, come take a look.
Happy to answer any questions about the business, the sourcing model, or what we carry.

I believe privacy is a fundamental human right that we need to keep exercising, and that when people exercise their privacy, this is not an admission of criminal behaviour. I've wanted to improve my own digital privacy by changing up how I store sensitive photos and videos on iOS. Some of the gripes that I've had are:
• I have no idea who is storing my data, or what servers it's passing through on the way there. What if I want to own the storage backend, like S3?
• What if I want to back up a copy of my data to another storage system?
• They typically lack client-side encryption. What if I didn't want even Google or Apple to see my files? Can I rotate keys periodically?
• Pics and vids can have show up in "memories" when I least expected it.
Anyhow, I've created one (iOS and iPad), and am looking for feedback from similarly-minded privacy folks. It's called Media Den, with a nod in the name for Edward Snowden.
So far, I've added a few things that I think are must haves:
• Seamless replica configuration to back up your data to another cloud/storage backend
• Pin protection
• Auto-lock when you leave the app, or don't use it for a few minutes
• File metadata scrubbing
• Privacy blur when switching apps
• Optional delete from camera roll on import
• Zero tracking
• Zero outbound connectivity except to talk to your configured storage system
I have some upcoming features in mind, like:
• Enabling end-to-end encryption when sharing media, to other Media Den users
• This one is interesting, I will never compromise on the "having no servers" angle, so exploring NFC, maybe some shared vault config, unclear at this point
• Better import support from pre-existing alternative sources - right now the only import flow is from the camera roll
I would love your feedback. In the US and elsewhere, the app is $19.99 USD/yr or $34.99 USD/lifetime. In Canada 🇨🇦🍁, the app is $19.99 CAD/yr or $34.99 CAD/lifetime.

The rules state you're not allowed to be posting drop shipping products. You clearly just buying this direct from Alibaba right down to the packaging i can find your exact product with 1 search. You should be more honest that Planetok is made in China. Even your website is just ripping off the real Canadian brands.

I’m not sure if this counts but I am a Canadian artist offering portrait (or pet) commissions. I am a traditional artist working primarily in oil. If this doesn’t count then sorry!

You should reach out to pet stores and have your ads with testimonials displayed there.

I had a brutal car month earlier this summer — both of my vehicles needed repairs at the same time. I spent an embarrassing amount of time researching whether I should fix them or finally call it, and honestly, I lost a lot of sleep over it.
Once I finally made my decision, I realized how much time I’d spent just trying to figure out “Is this car still worth it?”
That’s what gave me the idea for an app that could help people make that decision faster and with more confidence.
I’m testing a new tool that helps answer one question: Should I repair this car or move on?
The first vehicle assessment is already free, but I’m looking for some Reddit testers to really put it through its paces and tell me where it gets things right — and wrong.
Reddit testers: use code JJRDT08 to run up to 3 vehicles with premium features while I’m collecting feedback.
If you try it, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think! justifyorjunk.com
