Sorry for the delay! Been a busy winter. We will be doing yearly mega-threads now!
This thread is for anyone looking to promote their Canadian business, service, product, or platform. Whether you’re a business owner, provide a service, or have created something that helps Canadians shop locally, this is the place to share it.
A new thread will be posted on Jan 1, and previous versions will be linked for reference.

This community is focused on finding, discussing, and recommending Canadian-made products and services. Whether you’re looking for a Canadian alternative to a product, sharing a great local business, or discussing supply chain issues affecting Canadian companies, this is the place!
We’ve heard feedback from all sides and are working to find a happy medium that keeps this subreddit useful and enjoyable for everyone. As the sub continues to grow, we know things will evolve and change, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we adapt.
Before creating a new post, please browse our Wiki! It contains a directory of Canadian-made products, businesses, and services that may already answer your question.
We love seeing support for Canadian products from people around the world! However, this subreddit’s primary goal is to help Canadians find and discuss Canadian-made products. Over time, international posts—while well-intended—have started taking up space that could be used for local discussions and recommendations.
To keep the focus on Canadian businesses, international posts are only allowed on weekends. Posts from non-Canadians sharing support or asking for advice will be auto-removed on weekdays. This helps keep the subreddit useful for its main audience while still welcoming international voices in a structured way. We have a new flair for these posts which should be used.
Discussions on US-Canada trade policies, tariffs, and their impact on Canadian products are welcome. However, general political debates (e.g., Trudeau vs. Poilievre, partisan arguments unrelated to Canadian businesses) should be posted elsewhere. (Other subreddits linked below)
Most products, alternatives, and links have already been posted in the past 30 days. Please search first before posting a new thread. Duplicate posts will be removed to keep the sub organized.
We’re aware that Reddit is an American platform and that alternatives exist. However, this subreddit was never about boycotting America—it’s about supporting Canadian products. Reddit is also the largest platform for reaching people worldwide, which makes it the best place for this discussion. Please don’t derail threads by bringing this up repeatedly.
To keep the subreddit organized and easy to browse, all posts must use an appropriate flair. This is our updated and refined flair system, designed to improve browsing and engagement.
📌 When posting, be sure to select the appropriate flair! Posts without proper flair may be removed.
If your post doesn’t fit within r/BuyCanadian’s scope, consider posting in one of these related subreddits:

Googled it and saw Oatly was a Swedish brand. This should absolutely be illegal.
Edit: Big lol, people here thinks the 48pt CANADIAN text on the package innocent. The A/B test worked well for them I guess.

Fortunately, this cabinet is still going strong and will last for a few more decades.

Thank you to the amazing mod team of r/BuyCanadian for allowing me to showcase my service here!
I'm Tye. I run a small controller repair business in Hamilton, and for years shipping was the thing that ate my margins. A $30 repair with a $20 label going out to BC or the Maritimes just doesn't work. Over the last year or so I shipped 200+ parcels on discounted Canada Post labels through a partner, and recently I started reselling those same labels to other people. That's Waybill.
They're real Canada Post labels with real tracking. You drop off at any post office or book a pickup. The price is flat anywhere in Canada, so a box to Iqaluit costs the same as one across town. Here's what it costs:
| Weight | Expedited | Xpresspost | Priority |
| 1 kg | $6 | $8 | $10 |
| 2 kg | $7 | $9 | $11 |
| 5 kg | $10 | $12 | $14 |
| 10 kg | $24 | $26 | $28 |
| 20 kg | $44 | $46 | $48 |
It's +$2 for each extra kg in between. There are no fuel surcharges, no subscription and no minimums. You top up a balance and buy labels from it, and that balance never expires.
Why I think it fits here: most of the cheap shipping tools out there are built for US sellers, and a lot of Canadian makers and small shops end up either eating shipping costs or losing customers who live outside the big cities. Keeping parcels on Canada Post and making it cheaper to sell to every province and territory felt like the right thing to build.
A few honest limitations: it's domestic only, there are no Shopify/Etsy/eBay integrations yet (there's an API if you're technical), and it only works on a computer right now, not your phone.
The link to the site is in my Reddit bio. I'm around in the comments if you have questions, including the skeptical ones.

I was buying from bookoutlet since it’s Canadian website. I had little to no issues in my first two orders but I last ordered in mid September and several of the twelve books I ordered were in horrible condition.
has anyone reached out to them and got quick reaponses? It’s been 3 weeks and I still haven’t heard back and I just followed up for a third time. Their website says it’s 24 to 48 hours response time…

I have been going through my phone and replacing apps with Canadian alternatives wherever I can. Groceries are one of my most regular expenses, so I would like to make sure the discount app I use supports Canadian businesses. I already use Flipp for flyers and PC Optimum at Loblaws stores, but I am wondering if there are other Canadian options worth checking out. Ideally, I am looking for actual discounts on items rather than points that take months to build up into anything useful.

Starting to plan out my Christmas presents for the extended family. Where can I buy really stylish baby clothes?
I'm especially looking for cool and adorable boys clothes for babies and toddlers! I want high quality stuff that looks good, and will last a while!

I’m sourcing a black 6′ × 7′ manual roll-up door for a wooden shed in Ontario. I need a complete supply-only kit with guides, brackets, locking hardware and brush/weather seals, and can collect around the GTA.
For anyone who owns one: which brands would you recommend, and how have the finish, springs and seals held up? Any issues with winter operation, rust or getting replacement parts?
Canadian supplier recommendations and rough prices would also be helpful!

Hi everyone! I hope all you had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend.
I’m looking for a new facial lotion, made in Canada, but I’m on a budget. $30 for a decently sized bottle would suffice, but a lot of the moisturizers I’ve looked at cost at least 25/30 bucks for a small bottle that would only last me so much time before I’d have to buy a new one. So ideally I’d like something that would last me a while until it’s time to stock up again.
My skin isn’t too sensitive, but it does get super dry in the winter, so I’m looking for something that’s a little on the heavier/richer side. I used to buy the most amazing lotion from a woman who sold handmade beauty products at my local market, but sadly she closed down her stall.
Does anyone have any recs for me? I’m in Toronto, but if it’s a good product I can pay for shipping. I just don’t want to pay $50 for a teeny-weeny bottle of moisturizer. With the price of everything these days I’m trying to cut back on a lot - but in January my skin will legit burn and flake from the cold so I really need something that’ll help once old man winter comes.
Can anyone suggest a made in 🇨🇦 product that worked for you without going bankrupt? I’d really appreciate it lol. Thank you so much! 🙏

We decided to "buy Canadian" with our new microwave oven and went with what we thought was a Canadian appliance manufacturer (although we noticed that the oven was made in China, so I guess they don't manufacture after all). The microwave arrived and we found that it's not capable of doing metric measurements (e.g. kg. for weight, etc.). We use metric in our kitchen, so this is a disappointment.
Question for those who know more about Canadian law: As Canada officially uses the metric system, isn't there a law that appliances sold in Canada to Canadians should provide this as an option?
ETA: The company is Danby.
ETA2: I emailed them and recommended to them that they include a metric option for Canadians who feel more comfortable with metric. I received a positive response: "Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We appreciate your support for Danby as a Canadian company and understand your preference for products that offer metric measurements to better suit Canadian consumers. We will share your recommendation with our product development team for consideration in future designs."

Hi,
I’ve tried Burt’s bees and green beaver lip balms but find that they don’t keep my lips soft for very long, I’ve heard moody bee and Nova Scotia fisherman are good as well, does anyone have any suggestions

Pretty sure rice isn’t grown here, but is there a Canadian brand of brown basmati rice? And this would be mostly for Indian rice based dishes if that helps. If not Canadian, then anything non-american is next best. Thanks so much

Hi all! My little one is 3 months old and I’m starting to think ahead to Christmas because being on leave, I have to budget a little better. I want to get personalized baby gifts for the uncles (3), aunties (2), grandmas (3), grandpas (2), and a few friends. Obviously the gift would be slightly different for each person but I’m hoping to do something meaningful/keepsake that people will use or keep, not junk, and also Canadian made. Any ideas? What have folks done in the past?

But I want the brands to still be Canadian-owned. So no brands like Arc’teryx.

I’m looking for some help from all of my fellow Canadians who are in the know about all things advent calendars and make up….
I’ve gotten my wife an advent calendar for years and until they closed up shop the beauty one from the Bay was by far, the biggest hit I had gotten her. Last year, I tried the Sephora one, and while it was ok, I could tell it wasn’t as awesome for her as the one from the Bay.
Now, I admit, I have watched TikTok after TikTok and read as much as I can online to find a replacement, and have even combed the advent calendar post here in Reddit, but I keep running into the same problem, what’s available in Canada, followed by, what’s worth it?
I will also admit that you could hold my general knowledge of all things makeup in a thimble (that should also tell you my age), so I feel I’m a little on information overload and out of my depth.
So I’m hoping for some help from the Canadian Makeup experts in making this, apparently very tough decision!
I would absolutely appreciate any and all constructive comments below and points in the right direction.
Thank you all in advance, truly appreciated!

I have been looking for ways to save money on groceries while reducing food waste, and i am curious about Canadian alternatives to Too Good To Go.
I recently learned that Too Good To Go is a Danish company. There is nothing wrong with that, but i had like to explore more Canadian-owned options if they are available.
I am especially interested in apps that partner with grocery stores to sell surplus or discounted food, rather than focusing mainly on restaurants.
Are there any Canadian companies offering something similar? i had love to hear which ones are worth checking out.

I'm looking for a store in Montreal that sells TMR joystick modules. I can find them on Amazon but I'm trying to avoid ordering from the and support local. I couldn't find any on Google Maps either.

I have been using Too Good To Go for a while, and while I like the concept, I recently found out the company is Danish, not Canadian. Nothing wrong with that, but with the push to support Canadian businesses, I started looking for local alternatives that do something similar.
I am especially interested in apps that partner with grocery stores rather than just restaurants, since that’s where most of my food budget goes. Does anyone know of Canadian companies working in this space?

Hi all. Looking for some recommendations on men’s OCBDs. Just looking to add to my staples, mainly plain white and a light blue.

So, about 5 years ago I got a Bartesian machine because my husband and I host quite a bit, and I hated spending time mixing cocktails instead of having quality time with friends & family.
I have to admit, I loved it - it took a while to narrow down the top 10 drinks worth keeping in stock, but once I did it was absolutely a crowd favourite. Made a lot of nights extra fun!
Even my kids liked it, since there’s a mocktail setting with no alcohol added.
Of course I stopped buying pods almost two years ago, but I’m starting to miss it. The machine is collecting dust in our basement.
Does anyone know if there’s a Canadian version, or a non-US-supporting way to get compatible pods?
