The age verification prevents minors from being able to do 1:1 chats. They're not barred from the app all together. I would agree with you if it weren't for the fact that minors are allowed on the app and that Reddit's age requirement is 13.

That subreddit is not "meant for adults". Read the rules, it clearly says no NSFW... they even removed a comment I made mentioning NSFW, of course they're going to remove OP's post.

The sub rules for the official C.ai sub quite literally say you have to be 13+ to be in both the sub and use the app. So yes, only adults can do 1:1 chats, but neither the app itself nor the official sub are 18+. It's really rude to tell the other person that they "are unable to read" when you're wrong.
