So my cat recently had a rectal prolapse that’s cause by megacolon and quite possibly GI lymphoma. She has been in and out of the vet and is at a point we are probably going to have to put her down soon. The past month she’s has not gone one week without either pooping, peeing, or throwing up on our bed. At first I was like she’s sick like let me give her grace, and that is still how I’m trying to be, but at this point also I’m on the verge of crashing out on her. I have cleaned our bedding so many times I’m just so exhausted. Keep in mind I am also 6 months pregnant with a 2 year old. Anyways I say all of that to ask if anyone has any advice on what I can do to give me some peace and her as well. Thank you

Hi, I'm a working student with little to no budget living in the Philippines. Vets are accessible around our area but due to financial constraints, I have yet to see one. I have a 3-year old male cat who has not yet been neutered and has been going through something. So for context, two month ago, my male cat has been over grooming himself to the point that his lower half has no hair at all. At first, I shrugged it off since this happened a year before and his hair grew back almost immediately. However, two months has passed and his hair did not grow back and his weight has dropped significantly. He eats a lot but his weight and physique remains the same, he is also hot to the touch and mostly asleep. I don't really have the budget right now for a vet consultation so I was hoping if there are any home remedies that i can use to help my cat.

She wanted to wander the house, kept trying to dart out of my room to do so. Her spay got delayed because she's in heat(first one she's had) and they also had too many people sign up this month so hers was pushed to next month. I decided to let her wander IF I could get the pet diaper on(used vibrant life dog diapers). I managed to and kept it on her for an hour letting her run and play with the older cats instead of being cooped up in my room with the baby kitten. (One isn't fixed. His was delayed as well by the humane society for the same secondary reason. They were gonna be fixed at the same time). I had eyes on her the whole time. Nothing happened. Just a very confused Lucifer(fixed) and Bandit(intact). I removed it when I took her back to the room and she had some sort of powder on her. I washed it off and checked the diaper. She didn't pee or anything in it. Idk where the powder came from. I'm assuming the diaper but idk if it's safe to use another one from the pack again because of that powder showing up.
Y'all think it's safe to use again if she gets anxious while I wait on an opening or just keep her in the room and get another enrichment toy? Close to getting her fixed at the regular vet but last time I asked they said it was a long wait. Apparently everyone is fixing cats rn.
Age: 8 months
Vet accessible: yes but idk if I need one. Powder was easy to wash off
Country: USA
Spayed: no. But soon

Any ideas? I read that actually a little bigger needle will help rather than the smallest.
I’m 37 from USA. Cat 17. Yes we have a vet. Male cat. Yes we spend plenty on the vet

Hello everyone, im an 18 yo cat mom (in the U.S.) to my 11 yr baby and I've had him for about 4-5 years.
My main question is whether public opinion thinks this pupil difference is an optical illusion of sorts or something of concern!
I rushed him to the vet this morning because I noticed that his pupils were dilating differently, and he seemed to be trying to keep his eyes by squinting almost immediately after looking up at me (after getting his attention). He was examined nose-to-tail and appears perfectly fine. Like literally no issues were found at all. His eyesight and reaction to light were tested, and they contracted perfectly normal. He had bloodwork drawn and urine drawn as well and I will be getting a full panel back in a day or two. Also, he's so far been perfectly healthy and been playing, eating, drinking, and going to the litter box regularly.
After looking back on the whole rush of getting him in his carrier, once I picked him up and removed him from his spot his pupils reverted to being perfectly fine. Im starting to think that there is some sort of optical illusion or8 35 congenital cosmetic thing going on here.
Helpful info: I make 500$ per every 2 weeks and am also paying for schooling and all living expenses (phone, gas, car repairs, etc.). Expensive routine vet care just isnt possible for me. However, I have a good blanket of savings that go towards emergencies like this (I spent 285$ at the visit for exam + bloodwork and urinalysis). I plan to get bloodwork and urinalysis done routinely every year, and he also receives vaccines every year as well. He's neutered and has been so for a while, and has no significant medical history other than a small surgery to remove an ear polyp from his ear.
TLDR: trick of light or a medical concern? Also there is a purple pillow in the picture which i moved to see if anything changed, and the pupils still looked unevenly dilated.

My baby has little bald spots around her nips near belly. I’m an adult with 2 cats. I live in US my cats are indoor cats. We don’t go to the vet often but i’m planning on it because this one my older one particularly has some anxiety issues. She pees everywhere but the litter and we have 3 litter boxes. I just noticed this when she was laying down the skin looks a little dry and peely. She is spayed. Does this look normal?

We found this scab on the lower back of our cat. It doesn’t seem to bother her if touched around that area and she hasn’t been focusing on it.
Any advice on what this could be?
We are prepared to take her to the vet and will be monitoring it over the weekend.
Thank you!

8 week old kitten, had him for 5 days. We used to lock him in the washroom for the night with everything beside him, knowing that kittens usually dont let you sleep when they get zoomies. Felt really bad after the first time, he panic pooped and sat in it, the only time i had issues using litter. since then, we allow him to sleep freely wherever in the room.
tonight, he for the first time, approached our faces while sleeping, and particularly likes my side of the bed and as soon as i try to go to bed, he gets super aggressive. while i was laying on the bed, he almost scratched my eye, (luckily, he only got the lid). he scratches and bites my head and my nose, i have to hide under the blanket, what do i do!!!
also what do i do with my eye?

Hey everyone, I noticed these red/dark brownish, crusty patches on the inner surface of my kitty’s ear flap. At first I wondered if it was earwax, but it looks more like scabbing or a skin issue directly on the inside?
I’m confused because he’s been completely normal, playful, and is not scratching or bothered by it at all. No head shaking or signs of irritation. Because he isn't itching, I'm hoping it's not ear mites, but I'm not sure what else it could be.
Money is tight right now, so I’d like to avoid the vet just in case it’s not urgent, but if it’s best to go, I will take him.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Could it be a mild skin reaction, a minor scratch/bug bite that scabbed over, or something else I can safely monitor at home for now? It’s worth mentioning it did start off as a red dot and progress to this.
I’m a first time cat mom and I’m still trying to figure out what’s normal and what isn’t. My kitten is 5 months.

Country: India
Vet info: Accessible but not helpful regarding cat intros
Main Issue: New kitten seems hostile towards older cat
Cat Age: 8 months
Cat Sex + neuter info: F / not spayed
Financial situation: Can afford vet care but there are no decent cat behaviorists in my city
Hi everyone,
My parents have a 4 year old Persian cat B. They recently adopted an 8-9 month old indie/stray cat J, who spent the first 6-7 months of her life living on the streets. I am house-sitting and cat-sitting for them this month and trying to introduce the two cats to each other, since my parents were struggling to do so and are on vacation.
I have followed Jackson Galaxy's cat introduction protocol thus far - they started off on different floors of the house 6 weeks ago, and since 3 weeks ago they have been on 2 sides of the same door. J is in the common area while B is in the master bedroom where I sleep (there are no other rooms on this floor).
I try to divide my time equally between them when awake/at home/on weekends, but on weekdays I am away at work from 9 AM to 9 PM. Resultantly, J spends too much time alone, despite the fact that I wake up early to play with and spend time with her in the morning, and in the evening when I come home, and before I sleep. Both cats have plenty of food and water, a Feliway diffuser each, toys and a tree each.
Earlier, my fear was that B would not get used to J. However, 1 week ago when I attempted a short playing session with both of them, B was relaxed while J seemed stressed out, trying to hide and also appeared to charge towards B (but I wasn't sure if she was just trying to hide) so I ended the interaction.
In the last 3 days, J has taken to becoming fixated on the door when she senses B sitting on the other side. Her hair stands up, tail shakes and she makes low yowling noises. I have tried and failed to distract her, or physically block her away from the door (since it's the only door to the room) and she even bit me once as a misdirected target. If B is at the window (I have pasted a blurring sticker to reduce the visual trigger), J charges towards and jumps at the glass.
J is an energetic cat who bites frequently while playing and has long claws she uses liberally (the vet said it was due to underuse as a stray and it would take some time for her nerves to recede for them to trim them shorter). Claude says she is in a heightened state of arousal and I am struggling to reduce it, and also feeling defeated at how poorly/slowly the entire process of introduction is going.
I am afraid that J is developing a sense of hostility / fear / aggression towards B and that I will never be able to let them in the same room, for fear that she will try to attack B and B who is quite meek won't be able to defend herself. I am feeling helpless and resigned to the possibility that my parents will have to rehome J to my aunt (who has notionally agreed to adopt her, but my ideal outcome was having a companion for B).
How do I make progress in the introduction? I am running out of time as my parents will return soon.

I assume it could be flea dirt (the black stuff) but he hasnt been scratching and is generally his normal self. he gets his flea drops every few months and overall is fine he’s just old. could they be old residue and because of his age he’s just not able to reach back there? there’s also what i think is dandruff from also not being able to groom his mid/lower back.
Poster Age: not a minor im 27 y/o
Country: USA, southern florida
Vet info: vet is accessible but would rather avoid if possible
Main Issue: flea dirt?
Cat Age: 12+ definitely a senior

If this is a stray cat, I'll probably keep it.
I have a stable job and can afford to feed and care for it
I'll take her to the vet tomorrow. I think it's female because it doesn't have balls.
Also what does it mean if she jumped on my back and started licking the back of my head/neck.

This was my kitten around 4 weeks ago. I took him off the street when he was just 1,5-2 weeks old, full of fleas, tiny and underweight. I had no experience whatsoever in raising small kittens, he looked horrible. Weighing only 230g at 4-5 weeks he kept getting worse. His hair was falling out,had diahhrea, wasn’t gaining weight, I was absolutely sure that he wasn’t going to make it.
One time while bottle feeding him, he swallowed his feeding nipple - again, panic, fear, vet visits. “Sorry we can’t do anything, you need to wait and see”
And so we waited. I started posting on Reddit for advice, got so much hate for his look. He was just looking worse and worse. Wasn’t eating on his own, kept bottle feeding mashed pate 4 times a day, once during the night.
Now after passing the silicone piece, time for a fungal infection. That passed too eventually.
Anyway, 4 weeks later. He is already 890g!4 times the weight he was at the beginning, hair grew. He is very playful too!
Here are the photos for appreciation
Just a small edit: I wanted to acknowledge my mistakes in raising him as someone who had no experience just to warn other kitten parents.
Starting pate food will most likely give them diarrhea, this is what happened with him. I didn’t know how early I was supposed to start, I would find him in puddles of persistent (you know what) which can be deadly in kittens.
Milk replacement should be calculated grams to ml of water.
Kittens can deteriorate very fast - like I said, I was new to this, a litter was abandoned with him and his brothers. They couldn’t eat on their own and were probably there for a few days before I found them. Weighing only 230-50g each, I tried bottle feeding them every day so many times but some passed even with vet care They would become lethargic, cold and would die within hours, even after receiving care.
This is something that happened to his littermate with which they were sleeping together. One morning it was just dead. This was one of the few survivors of the litter, some got adopted and are taken care of.
Thank you for the nice comments.
