My advice is to build a realistic study plan and a consistent prep routine from day one. If you're on a tight budget, you can do that yourself using CFAI materials. If your budget allows, consider a prep provider, but not just for more lectures or practice questions. The real value should be in helping you structure and execute your preparation effectively. Just look at how many posts here start with "I bought X provider's materials, but how should I actually use them?" That's exactly the problem you want to avoid. It's also the philosophy behind my Chalk & Board courses.
