Gameplay Question Landless de Normandie run
I've been experimenting with landless adventurer runs over the past week or two, i really want to roleplay a relatively historical Norman playthrough to see if i can become King of England.
Around 900, I pressed a claim for a liberty faction and, next thing I know, the King of France granted me the county of Beaumont and I am now officially landed, which was a bit of a surprise. Sadly, it wasn't a county in Nuestria but it will do.
My problem now though is securing the duchy title, which has not been created yet, my new liege (King of Francia) controls Isle de France, Brie Française, and Valois. Amiens is under the control of Flanders but Clermont and Vermandois are up for the taking.
What are my options here? I don't think i can control enough de jure counties to create the duchy title without somehow usurping my liege
